Congrats to new Elvira HoH owner, Rebecca Hinsdale!
Some topper questions:
TOPPER SCREAM LOCKOUT TIMER: 180
TOPPER GAME SCREAM: 20%
TOPPER ATTRACT MODE SCREAM: 20%
What, exactly, do each of these settings do?
Does the topper ever go off on its own during attract mode? I've only seen it when pressing one of the flipper buttons.
Can the up lights be turned off during attract mode?
Quoted from Amused_to_Death:TOPPER SCREAM LOCKOUT TIMER: 180
Topper won't activate for this period of time after the last activation.
Quoted from Amused_to_Death:TOPPER GAME SCREAM: 20%
The percentage of times the topper can activate that it actually does. (I think, but not exactly sure.)
Quoted from Amused_to_Death:TOPPER ATTRACT MODE SCREAM: 20%
The percentage of times the topper will activate when a flipper button is pressed in attract mode.
Attract sounds only activate by pressing a flipper button.
There is no adjustment to turn the topper lights off that I've seen.
Just got an update from my distributor on my EHOH order which has been in cue since June of 2021. Stern is evidently doing one last small run, supposedly in November of 2022. That may be it for the game. I was also informed that while I will be getting my game, the dealer allocation has apparently been severely reduced. I have a bad feeling there may be a lot of disappointed customers if Stern only does one small final run.
Yeah, feels like a lot of us are going to be disappointed this year. Crazy, a game in such high demand, will only get a small, limited run, 9-10 months from now.

I wonder why? Is this game that hard to make? Does it have a significantly slower build rate? That area over the by the crypt is tight, and I think most of use have had some sort of issue with something over there. I wonder if they feel the juice isn't worth the squeeze?
Finally locked all the balls for Gappa Angry. Just when I thought this game couldn’t get any better, that was pretty awesome!

Had a conversation with my distro yesterday. He basically confirmed what has already been said, adding that no distributor knows exactly what's happening beyond what Stern tells them. They all get the same info. He said it's likely that I'll get one since I'm early on the list but it's still no guarantee because he isn't sure how many he'll get now, just like every other distro.
Like I said, I'll keep my fingers crossed. I'd really like to have this in my living room.

I've had my EHOH since May and still haven't been able to pull that off yet. I've hit every other mode up the ladder. My favorite being scream test. I did finally get to phone a friend a week ago. I still need to get attic attack, the clown dead head, Manos wheel, and wild market value (aside from Gappa Angry multiball) before I've seen everything. I've been one shot away from most of them. Love this game!
Quoted from Goyomex:FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFudge! I just can't catch a break on buying one of these before they sell out. On no less than 6-7 waitlists, but clearly the wrong ones. Got a naked EHOH just waiting for a topper - Never had such a hard time trying to spend $1000 on a topper.
Ok, perhaps I'm approaching this wrong. How about $50 "reward" to anyone who spots availability and DM's me BEFORE posting it on this thread!! Seriously - PP F&F will be paid immediately upon a successful purchase. Desperate times, creative measures.
So great to see all these turds (PG-13 version) buying toppers and trying to flip them for 2x the purchase price. Two listed today alone. Sux for those of us with naked EHOH’s looking for one to actually use. $50 reward still out there for anyone who DMs me when they see a distributor with stock.

Yeah, it really sucks. There was no doubt what was going to happen.

Funny - One of those is mine. I took it as partial payment for another machine I had. The owner had a topper but no game. He officially gave up the hunt for EHoH saying he was now priced out of that title and was told he had no chance to get one from the distributor he deals with. The wait list was just too long for him to get a machine. A gave him a pretty good credit for it. I still have my EHoH but I suffer from low ceilings.

B8AD8325-7060-4AAD-9E0B-8B452AE7ED01 (resized).pngHas anyone here experienced "ghost switching" on their Elvira's HoH?
On my game all of a sudden the switches for the "Un happy hours" ramps just kept triggering. So the scores went haywire! I took the glas of and went to switch test, but none of the switches registered when I pulled the ramps and stuff. It only registered as they should.
I rebooted the game and played a game. Everything worked as it should so I thought it was just a temporary glitch? But then it started to trigger again, with no ball near the ramps! ☹️
Has anyone had this issue?

Yes, many have, check/ align / tighten ramp optos
Just received my new 40th the day before yesterday, got the topper the day after... I am totally in LOVE.
It's an amazing game in every way - shoots beautifully, fantastic rules/modes and man... it is so much fun! This 40th edition might be the most gorgeous looking Stern I've ever seen in the flesh. Even good pictures do it no justice, never mind the awful ones from my dark theater, but here's one anyhow.

Congrats! EHoH is an awesome game. Your 40th anniversary edition with topper is a beauty. I bought my premium 2 years ago, before I knew how good this game would eventually become. A huge code update happened just days after I bought mine. I found a topper last year and I bought rails Cointaker once offered. I’m not sure I can bring myself to screw them into the cabinet! Maybe someone can post a picture of how they look installed so I can decide.

Did you add the IC kit yourself? I thought EHOH was supposed to have its own unique IC apron?
Quoted from CashMoney:Did you add the IC kit yourself? I thought EHOH was supposed to have its own unique IC apron?
That is the IC apron that is all 40th games. There is supposed to be an Elvira-specific IC kit for the other models but it hasn’t been released yet.

Its strange that Stern wouldn't put the upgraded EHOH specific apron in a $25K machine... Also interesting that they decided to put it on the left side of the apron when all of the other machines have it on the right side.

I’m assuming that is the upgraded EHOH apron. I’m just disappointed there’s no game specific art, but just the generic IC sticker. No one in their right mind is going to put a 40th on location.

Personally, I think they kind of clash with the cabinet art. The solid color blood rails work so much better. I think stock is a better look on the premium vs. these. I know what Stern was trying to do. They are obviously a throwback to Sacred Stiff but it doesn't seem to work for me.

That’s what I’m wrestling with trying to decide. I think the rails are fantastic. They would look great on any Elvira pin, but they don’t really work (or fit) on the first two, and I can’t decide on EHoH, although I like the look.

Okay! So it is a known "flaw"?
I will try to look on the optos more closely then.
Thanks!

My guess is that the SLE and LE models have a signature plastic that is signed by the design team that Stern didnt want user to have to remove. The SLE and LE also have an autograph card on the apron below so that apron doesnt have the corner cut outs to hold an instruction card there. If they put the QR scanner on the right side then LE/SLE owners would lose their signature plastic and they also wouldn't have a spot to put the QR scanner instruction card below it.
For EHOH premium owners who dont have a signature plastic to lose you should be able to just use the same premium IC upgrade kit as other machines (DP, IM, JP, AIQ, etc) that mounts on the right side replacing the artwork plastic that's there now. EHOH Premium aprons alos have the corner cut outs to hold the QR instruction card below the scanner. That's why I think they decided to put the QR scanner on the left side for EHOH.
I think the reason we don't have a kit yet is that Stern needs to make additional QR scanners and related left hand version of artwork (would look exactly what they used for the 40th) that mounts on the left side. There shouldn't need to be a new apron for EHOH.
I also agree that it was cheap for Stern not to create a full artwork apron wrap for the 40th owners similar to what they did on Rush, Godzilla, and Batman. It's the most expensive and least like to go on location Stern game and the laziest IC apron art from the factory.

That QR reader is a bloody eye sore on any game , it sure does ruin the look of a $25K Pinball Machine. If it is of any value I would put it on the coin door , Someone made a mod to put it where the bill reader goes.

This is what I have done to all my games - coin door.

The apron for my 40th looks like this - I am very glad they included IC, I am totally addicted to it.

Literally just happened to mine last weekend. On mine the left opto on the right ramp (next to the crypt) had become loose and slipped down. That caused the opto to almost continuously trigger. It rolled up 2B points in less than a minute!
It was a pretty easy fix. I had to remove the top of the crypt and tighten the screw to get the opto back in place.

I agree the IC stuff is very cool. But if you compare the apron art on EHOH 40th to the other games that shipped with IC from the factory its a bit lazy.

Don't forget the oversized dagger plunger in the way. That alone made it a no to me. I have a small gameroom and already rub up against everything else. That would really hurt, not to mention the height its at!
I wonder how many backorders there are for this pin?
I'm trying to put a deposit on one, and no one will take my money. HA!! Contacted three distos.
1st rule is business is: "Take their money!!".
I was told by one: "We will put you on the list for taking the place of anyone who backs out the already ordered list". Really? Get on a list, to get on a different list, if you're lucky.
Why wouldn't they have a list and build as many as are on the list? It's not a limited edition, it's a premium.
What a world we live in.
At least say "here's the cutoff, get a deposit before this date and yeah, we'll build you one....... someday".

The dealers only know that there will be another run in November if the schedule doesn't change before then. They don't even know if they'll receive enough to fulfill their orders. Stern sells what they build to the dealers and distributors. It's the dealers' responsibility to sell to their customers. Stern does not take deposits or maintain lists. They only tell the dealers how many games they will receive and collect the money for them.
Be glad dealers are not taking your order. You would be very disappointed when you get told you won't get a game. Put your name on every interested list you can and hope for the best.

That's a very interesting way of doing business (this would be my 1st pin after only playing on location for 30 years - hard to find pinball to play on location anymore).
You'd think it would be smart to ask dealers "how many do you want?" or rather "How many can you sell?" and then run with that.
I do get that limited supply creates scarcity, and that has to be quite beneficial in ways. Did they just not anticipate the demand with this one?

I don't believe they did anticipate the demand for EHoH. Many considered it a simple layout with subpar code. That is, until the code progressed to where it is. (People didn't have any appreciation for Lyman's vision.) Also, I don't think anyone planned for the pandemic and its unexpected effect on demand for pinball machines. There are also rumors that this game, in particular, is more difficult in terms of assembly, therefore not ideal to be on the assembly line.
Stern knows how many machines they can produce in any given time. They must combine that with licensor agreements and parts availability, which has been affected by the pandemic. They also had to deal with a months-long shutdown which prevented them from making any product causing a backlog of orders. Would it be great if they would produce more EHoH? Of course. Unfortunately, Stern has determined, for whatever reason, that it's not of the highest priority.
Things have been great for demand for Stern's products, but not-so-great for the buyers. We are still able to buy their fantastic products, but now we must wait longer for them and be on dealers' lists long before the announcements. What a terrible first-world problem to have.
As I mentioned previously, my distributor has been told he was likely to get a fraction of the allocation he has ordered. He like all the others have stopped accepting orders since many, many customers are bound to be disappointed. We will know how many come November if Stern keeps its word on production.
Thank you SK for explaining so much to me, I'm new and appreciate it.
Just a random thought..... they've sold out of every model they've introduced with this pin....... that should tell them something. The 40th was a super-duper edition to put a cherry on top and reach beyond what anyone else has done (money-wise)...... you think another edition is on the drawing board? EHOH Yellow Brick road? Since Cactus did the whole SE+ thing (smart move BTW) it would be easy here. Premium+ with topper included. Like that wouldn't sell.
Hard to believe they would leave money on the table. Licensing is no thing: Cassandra will license anything.
Quoted from PinStalker:Hard to believe they would leave money on the table. Licensing is no thing: Cassandra will license anything.
It's been said here a few times that Stern doesn't like building EHOH cause it's very labor intensive. No idea if that true but seems very possible. History on this tile backs this up.
The sad truth is Elvira is a low demand game compared to other titles Stern offers. They only have so much capacity at the factory. It will be on the line once more and that will be it. You can't be mad at them for going after the bigger prize. Usually these "deals" run for 3 years. Guess when the rights are up? Could it be November 2022???? Congrats to anyone getting one of the last games. It is a great title and will be highly desirable going forward.
