i was pretty sure mine wasn't the opto. It registered everytime something crossed the path. It was just out of sync/phase. I thought it was some sort of gear or linkage slipping in the motor or something was loose. I am glad that it turned out to be something minor (I just with I would have thought to look to see if there was a diagnostic in the menu before I tore it all apart).

Having a new issue with the ball release under the left ramp. The plunger keeps activating even when the game is in attract mode. I'll randomly hear it fire like it's trying to release a ball. There is no ball in that area (currently).

I noticed this a week ago when I had a ball stuck in game. The plunger would retract but the ball was not rolling out. I had to manually get the ball out. It's not an easy area to see into, so unsure if there is a gate or something else that could have fallen in front of the opto causing the coil to fire even when there is no ball present.

The opto thinks there's a ball in the lock that shouldn't be. The opto needs cleaning. If you don't want to take everything off to get to the opto, a good blast of air in the area may be enough to remove whatever it is that is disrupting the beam. In other words, give Elvira a blow job. Works for me.

Great job, Steve! Much better quality than what I got from Stern. And I figure I paid them at least $5,000 for the side rails and legs on my 40th Anniversary Edition machine.

I ordered my Elvira Topper from Cointaker. Melissa hasn't shipped it yet since she's been sick... and now we have this lovely weather system pounding quite a few cities across the US of A.

Damn, beginning to feel like I'm always an hour too late when these posts announcing distributor stock come up. Per some great guidance, I've reached out to 8-10 distros and asked to be notified/put on their waitlist but I continue to come up short. Sux!

I’m beginning to think that Stern should do what CGC did with Cactus Canyon - if you want a topper you have to order it with your game or like what PPS is doing with the mirrored backglass - limit of one per game purchased and only through the distributor that sold you the game.

I just got my topper and I should have my side rails soon, as a matter of fact I have almost every mod for Elvira that I had planned on getting. The only thing I’m lacking is the actual game, I like most who have been waiting on a premium got shafted on this last run, so count me as a guy who owns a topper but doesn’t own a game.

Anyone need an EHOH translite? Also have a 3D printed campy camper mod I never installed if anyone is interested. Looking to unload as I no longer have the game and I’d like to fund a few pricey mods for GZ. Shoot me a msg!

I absolutely wasn’t talking about guys like you. Keep the topper and rails until you get the game or no longer want one.

That is a fair price but not more. They aren't even lighted like the JP amber one yet Stern is charging the same amount. They are not worth anything close to what Stern is asking.

I have no plans of ever adding a topper to my EHOH. Even if I wanted to there is not enough overhead clearance.

So, if in the long run Stern makes enough for all of the games, there will be one left over, and I really hope a flipper gets stuck with it!

I felt $80 was a little rich, but now it's $170? A total ripoff. A small plastic clown head attached to a metal rod. Damn thing should be $30 tops.

This was the second/last run. No way they made more than a few hundred more.

I finally took the time to dig in and properly fix my VUK. I knew it was an alignment issue because even at max power the ball was often stuck in the chute, and at best would trickle out. I am posting what I did to fix mine in hopes of helping others with the same issue.

Stern's fix-it bulletin was somewhat helpful by showing which screws to remove, but that's it. They offered no guidance on what distance to adjust the bracket and I don't think they can. This is a case-by-case thing that requires individual fine tuning. You can see in the photo how far mine was off from where it needed to be. Way off. Anyway, I was able to try different positions by securing the bracket with gorilla tape and then test firing. Once I located the ideal position I screwed it down and removed the tape. The whole process only took about 10 minutes. I probably stared at it and pondered for longer than it took to fix. I believe this is the only way to be sure before making new screw holes in your playfield. Also, when the positioning is correct you don't have to make the shooter tip concave as others have recommended (although I don't think it would hurt), or add tape, or anything else.

I am thrilled my Elvira finally plays as it was designed and got the GC score on my first game post-fix, with multiple trunk multiballs.

Adjusted my left orbit ball guide today and found this rubber pad I had laying around that works perfect to protect the end of the protruding guide. It has a T-shaped end that covers the edge of the guide nicely. I checked Marco and they show out of stock but if you can get your hands on one, it’s an option.
Also, I added the headphone Jack mod and real knocker while I had the hood opened, and very pleased with both of them.

That is a lot of purple. I have the stern blades. They were there when I got the game. They kinda blend in which is good to me.

Doers anyone knows where I can buy the decal that goes on the scoop for the crypt? Mine got caught in the crypt when moving and it bend so badly that I had to remove it. It is not just a paper decal, but rather light aluminum composition.
