Wow. That sucks for sure. My issue list is much smaller. The LED on my lockdown bar button doesn't light (Stern sending a new assembly and cabinet none board) and my shooter lane switch was too low and very loose. Ball wasn't making the switch so the control gate wasn't opening for super skill shot attempt. Super easy fix.
I hope you get your parts quick and get your game to 100%. The quality control does suck but once dialed in you should be good to go. Definitely worth the effort for such a fun game.

So you got a hold of someone at Stern? I sent 3 emails last week with no response.

My distributor is trying to figure things out but I'm finding it difficult working with a middle person to get things addressed. I still have my node board in Elvira from my JP so my JP is currently down. Even though Elvira flippers work now (with my JP board), GI lights under both slings iare out and the house doesn't hold the ball when starting up a mode.

I actually went through my dealer and he was able to get Stern to address my issue right away. He then forwarded the stuff Stern asked me to troubleshoot. When that didn't solve the issue they shipped the parts. Hope you get to the bottom of your issues quick!

What the hell do I have to do to get Stern to help me?

I can’t believe you have to go through all of this. I am so sorry. Spend over $8k and at the mercy of stern who did not check to see if the damn thing worked or not before boxing up.

RALPHWIGGUM‘S lenticular instruction cards arrived yesterday!! Excellent quality as usual. Again these look much better in person. Now waiting for Elvira to be delivered by FedEx today. Thank you again RALPHWIGGUM! Then going to make my custom shooter rod. If goes well I will post pics and probably offer for sale.

thank you! order placed for EHOH and DP! I am not keen on mods but I hate the cheap cards they put on these...

Quoted from 2manyhobbies:

A lighted Alien Spaceship mod I just did. Cheap mod that I think goes well with the game.

[quoted image]
[quoted image]
If interested this is what you will need.
Order the following
Spaceship: amazon.com link »
Frosted Blue Light Kit from Comet Pinball: https://www.cometpinball.com/search?q=10SMD6.3VSTRIPBF
Music Wire: amazon.com link »
Extender 3': https://www.cometpinball.com/products/matrix-extension-wires?_pos=1&_sid=68dab0116&_ss=r&variant=12493662093356
Or 6" I cant remember but they are cheap: https://www.cometpinball.com/products/matrix-extension-wires?_pos=1&_sid=68dab0116&_ss=r&variant=12493662126124
Take the 2 screws out of the bottom of the ship
[quoted image]
Remove two more screws and remove the board and guts. I bought an extra ship incase I can figure out how to just use the lights built into this ship. There is a momentary contact switch and I have not figured out how to bypass the logic in the board
[quoted image]
Trim some of the ship guts out to give a bit more room.
[quoted image]
Then I drilled a small hole and trimmed a bit towards the back so the wire can come through the ship
[quoted image]
Wrap the light strip around the center, the clear plastic acts like a light pipe so have the lights facing the clear plastic. Plug in wire extender
[quoted image]
Add music wire , I installed mine like this.
[quoted image]
[quoted image]
[quoted image]
Put ship back together. You can use the battery supply to check the lights you just put in
[quoted image]
Bend wire and make a eyelet to mount
[quoted image]
With the light kit you get a bulb base you can use, so remove the upper right bulb and insert harness. Then mount to the screw on the back wall. A little bend here or there to get the pitch and angle of choice and that is it. I also used a black magic marker to color the red wire and the music wire. Whats next?
[quoted image]
Finished product and it only cost about $25

Ok, thanks. My dealer is working on the same thing. I guess that is how Stern is handling everything now.

A Stern tech did just get back to me and already uncovered something with the lights I didn't catch. I'm feeling better now the fix may not be that bad I Elvira will be up and running soon.

I don't agree with it as it actually makes communication and timely resolution more difficult (tech support shouldn't include middle people) but it is what it is. They must not know what the issue is because this is moving at a snails pace and my damn JP is down now until I get a replacement board.

I don't even bother reaching my Dist. It seems like a waste of time, unless it is something major maybe? did not have to go this route yet.

On another note, did anybody replace speakers on a premium? I like the music and callouts of this game enough for me to update the sound system, but do not want to throw money down the drain if there are no improvements.
I am not looking at installing an updated pin woofer or similar, I just want a straight up speaker replacement...

has anyone tried this?

I replaced my back box speakers recently. The biggest difference I notice is the clarity, but that may be because I’m hooked to an external sub which may drowned out some otherwise noticeable improvements. I went with the Pyle 4.5” others have mentioned and I modified the existing bracket to mount them.

Not sure if it would be really worth it. I added a Polk sub to my BKSOR. If I would do anything just get some 4” speakers on Amazon, or whatever the stock size is. Decent speakers on their for a reasonable price. I used the pinnovators spike II sub adapter kit to add my sub.

Has anybody had the screw that holds the motor for the crypt in place come loose? Also, can anybody provide a picture of what it’s supposed to look like when reconnected? A screw came loose today and there was a white piece that I’m trying to figure out if it goes with it or not. It’s fixed and working again properly but I want to make sure this is the correct way. Thanks guys!!

That's awesome. Stern will get the parts needed to get your game sorted out. Just takes time. Kinda crazy we are the QC department though.

Anybody had issues with the crypt regarding the screw that connects to the motor?

I had that issue. Screw loosened up and the crypt would not close properly. I tightened the screw and everything working again. Easy fix but hard to believe it came loose after 10 plays!

I noticed that if I tightened it too much, it didn’t work properly. It seems to need a little bit of play. Was there a white plastic piece or anything that went with it or just the screw and little silver washer?

#8737 2 years ago

Anyone have the ball go up the left ramp and hit the front of this plastic on hard shots? It only happens on occasion but I’m afraid that plastic is going to break.

I think I’ll try reducing the right flipper strength next time I play.

HURRY UP!

Sorry for the late update. 05/14/2021 build date. So far everything works great. Only thing is topper (possibly). It doesn’t scream during attract mode at all. Not sure when it comes on during game.

Coil works to open the lid during test mode. Those with topper, what is your settings at? Mods, side armor, art blades will be put on tomorrow.

No cabinet damage to report either.
Can’t believe it’s here. Going to eat and then play some more. Hasn’t sunk in its here yet. Appreciate everyone’s support and excitement. Definitely helped me to get through the 7 month wait.

Ok will play and see if comes on during wild woman multiball. I put percentages at 100%. What does the topper scream lockout timer setting do? I put it at 90.

Not getting any scream from topper in attract mode. Does it now happen often? Thanks!

Awesome idea. I was having same issue, I put a piece of crinkled tape back there but still a few rejects and not 100%. Was trying to think of a way to pad that so it will hit softly, and that is perfect idea!

Quoted from John1210:

Is that behind the house?

Yes. You have to remove it from the backside. The drop post assy comes off as well as the opto bracket then the subway can be removed. When you reinstall it may take a bit of adjusting to get the opto re-aligned but if you put it into switch test mode the drop solenoid will keep firing until you align the opto correctly then you can tighten it back up.
