He guys I’m installing some cliffys and plastics in Elvira today and I found this after I put some things back together. It was in the cabinet
Should I be worried?

Looks like the latch for the lock bar.

Definitely a switch activation arm.

I would check all the switches for the up-kick vuk's.

Where exactly in the cabinet did you find it? The area you found it may indicate where it came from on the playfield - so you can start there.

Two switches in EHOH use that arm on the micro body, the cellar VUK and the crypt VUK. Check those out first.

it’s the cellar. Before I take this apart, does this piece just fit back on or do I need a new one?
Thanks guys
I must of knocked it off when I was looking for a drop screw.

#8013 2 years ago

This isn’t gonna be any fun…..

#8014 2 years ago

Yes I need to order one. I started taking off everything on top but, in the end you can get to just the switch from the bottom.
Live and learn.
I broke it myself when looking for the dropped screw.
What a pita just adding some cliffys. Oops.

My cellar back VUK switch also broke

I just used a spare cherry switch and recreated the arm

Perfect ever since

I did buy a stern to have but it’s in the coin box

Am I correct that it can be completely swapped from the bottom. I mean. I removed the broken one but, it had no arm. Will I be able to get the new one in the same? Can I put the top playfield back together now?

That back cellar VUK switch should be fully accessible from the bottom

I used a socket and went in from the left side with a driver

Pulled out the switch

Solder swapped

Screwed back in

Go to go

if it's the crypt VUK, it's easy to get to. I had to disassemble bottom subway like 10 times, because of balls jams due to the stupid limit switches. The VUK is the first part that comes off, it's only 4 hwh screws. pretty sure the switch attaches with two black screws using a 3/16" socket. solder the new switch/adjust and done.

#8020 2 years ago

Thanks! I’m sure I’ll check back when I’m installing the new switch.

My distributor told me no updates/news for May shipment, but he said Stern will get them out this year to those who put a deposit down. I am not hopeful, but hope I am proven wrong.

I heard next year. I hope that was wrong.

#8023 2 years ago

I would say May is not happening now with the Mandalorian just announced.

Been saying this for 6 months. Noone has ears.

Stern has more than one assembly line. They aren't like other companies that can only run one game at a time. That's one of their strengths.

Exactly.

#8028 2 years ago

That’s why they needed to move to bigger facility

Stern knows how to crank out the numbers

#8029 2 years ago

They restocked their Elvira art blades too looks like.. fingers crossed

#8030 2 years ago

Has anyone had fast left orbit shots end up in the back door? I'm thinking the ball is hitting a plastic or something and deflecting into the saucer.

so why then, has EHOH not been on the line in a year? Demand has been HIGH, deposits paid....where are the games? They ran the new games along with JP IMDN and GOTG instead.

You'd have to ask them. Some have speculated it's a profit-margin thing, or a production-efficiency issue, but I have no idea. My point is just that Stern will build other games at the same time they are building Mandalorian. Stern releasing a new title doesn't stop production of older titles, like it would with say JJP.

Stern is perfectly capable of building Mandalorians and Elviras at the same time. If they wanted to.

My understanding from a friend who does a pinball podcast is that Stern currently has three production lines.

If demand is high and they are starting production right away for Mandalorian, it is likely two of the three will be focused on the new title. The third line makes other games.

I received communication from one of the well known, large distributors last week that they expected production on backordered EHOH to begin this week or next. This is the distributor I have mine on order with. That was last Friday before today's Mandalorian announcement, however, so time will tell.

Yes same happening to me. I thought it was ment like this? But there is no diverter?

I occasionally have shots that I think should go around and land in the pops fall into the backdoor. Its not common, but it does happen. I assume the ball is rattling off the ball guides rather than smoothly rolling back there and snags on something behind the house?

One difference in behavior that I have seen on some of the streams compared to my game is when I hit the front door shot. When the ramp is down and the diverter behind the house is also down (ball is NOT going into it hidey hole like when you start a mode), I've seen a lot of streamers EHOH games dropping the ball into the back door. Mine feeds out the left orbit and that seems like the expected behavior... maybe?

Not sure if these are related, but it the ease of back door entry seems to vary even on games where the fix has been applied.

I turned the flipper power down a bit to reduce this happening. One of the code updates mentions that you now needed to hit the left orbit as a qualifier for back door skill shot awards. I would have liked to see a 'Back Door Champion' put in the game The thing is I usually try and avoid the back door because it advances the haunt chapter when in fact I'm trying to string out the shots for higher points and increased trailer trash values. The top lane skill shot is way more lucrative too.

No, the ball seems to rattle into the back door lane/saucer. There isn't anything broken except for the house plastic, but that was normal on all the early run games.

Sounds like you have a great distributor. Who do you have? Mine doesn’t know anything and I am sure he is not making any effort to find out.

My May delivery got pushed back to August. Boo...

For anyone that hasn't seen it, here's the premiere video for EHOH. Sometimes I go back and watch these older premiere videos because they are fun and a reminder of pre-covid times. I don't think there was ever a 'making of' video done for EHOH though.

#8041 2 years ago

And here's a classic moment when Dennis locked a ball, thought it was stuck, but there was a new ball in the shooter lane

I enjoy" the making" of vids too. Wonder why a hit like ehoh didn't have one? Making of Bksor is very entertaining to watch

Most likely due to the different circumstances of developing EHOH vs one of the cornerstone games. To my understanding, Dennis was not a full time employee while doing the main design portions. It was also shown at various points in development at Expo, etc. It sounded like different phases of development were undertaken over time vs a more all at once approach as well. Just what I have put together from various interviews and news details, but its something.

I just got notice this morning from my distributor payment is due as my EHOH will he shipping next week. By next weekend I should be officially a member of the club!

Hopefully most of the others that have been patiently waiting will be getting theirs in the coming weeks as well. It sounds like the production numbers for this run may be a bit less than anticipated but the good news is it is back on the line and as expected, being made this month.

#8045 2 years ago

Not that I am overly excited but... I have already bought the blades, shooter, and shaker motor. I wake up every morning and check if I have an email from my distributor requesting payment before I even get out of bed.

I understand. I should be getting my Medisnyl casket, gargoyle, and Gonk's house next week. Perfect timing as it turns out. I have a shaker waiting as well.

Question…. this was my first modern pin and I was thinking of adding a shaker. Is there any difference between the Stern brand shaker motors and what is on pinball life? Other than $20 bucks?

It’s a $40 difference and I have bought three shakers from pinball life. One for Stranger Things, Black Knight Swords of Rage, and for monster bash remake. Will be buying for EHOH once it is built and arrives.

#8049 2 years ago

I've only used stern shakers. 100 from my distributor, no issues ever.

#8050 2 years ago

The Stern shaker is $40 more and it is ballistic, crazy rumbling....lots of glass rattle. Too strong imo, I prefer the cheaper, more chill Pinball life shaker.
