Having a backlog is actually pretty preferable rather than none.
Albeit with limits.
My business runs on a constant backlog also.
Stern isn't going to slow down planned releases, these are things that they won't change. What they can do is increase production capabilities within reason without having too much capacity which would trigger lay offs.
It's a balance, and to be honest the wait times aren't slowing orders down. So here we are.

and on new games this isn't turned on you have to do it in the menus first.

Prices are not going to go down much for it and may go up over time, but that’s totally speculative. Rather take the sure thing now.

Wow, that sucks. Have them look into Antabuse/Disulfiram with copper prescribed off label by their doctor. It's a proven safe generic drug from like the 1930s for alcoholics to make them sick if they drink alcohol so they don't do it, but it's been shown in the last decade to be effective in killing a wide variety of cancers. The mechanism wasn't known until the last few years. Turns out, it blocks the process for cancer cells to get rid of their waste, so they eventually explode (and, well, that's it for them). There are a LOT of studies on it now (check out NIH.gov website for a bunch), but it's not approved for cancer yet (hence the "off label"). It has been used in conjunction with chemo, etc and it does not interfere, so it can be done alongside other therapies as a kind of booster. The copper is important, though, don't over look that part. It encourages uptake of the Disulfiram by the cancer cells, and increases effectiveness.
Anyway, back to pinball...
I am in on the next run. A couple of questions for current owners:
Any instructions for installing the playfield protector? What needs to be removed?
Anything else I need to buy for game protection and have ready to install when I get the machine?

I believe all I removed were the ramps and the top of the house. However I was fixing something else at the time and can’t remember if that was absolutely necessary for installing the protector. If you want to install the protector intact you will have to remove the house.
If you cut the playfield protector at the very top (I did) you won’t have mess around with that and I think that makes it sit better.
IMO installing the playfield protector is a great move.

IMO installing the playfield protector is a great move.
Prior to installation I cut a sliver out of my protector right behind the house when I installed it so I wouldn't have to remove the entire house. Greatly simplifies the process.
I highly recommend a protector for a new game.

Man, look how every game but STR is out-of-stock! And yet they're probably still gonna release a new game in Feb or Mar. It's nuts. And man, people have been waiting on their Elvira orders for ages. I feel bad for them.
No EHOH till AUGUST?!?! That’s insane...I’ve been on a list since last May. June was the last run (I was too far back on the distro list). That’s well over a year with no Elvira on the line. Crazy.

I had a feeling it would be pushed back but August? Bummer. Surprised she got pushed back especially for people who have put in a deposit as early as February 2020. I did mine in November.

If there’s not that many with deposits left come august they may not even run it again at all.
By that time lz will be run plus 2 more games plus they still have thousands of other games backlogged.

Man I hope Elvira doesn’t get shelved. That would totally suck. Hopefully there was not a lot of cancellations after the $500 increase. Stern probably was hoping we would cancel.
I’ve been suspecting that the June 2020 run was the final. They kept putting it off, then raised the price...then pushed back production again. For whatever reason Stern definitely does not want to run this title any longer.

Unfortunately not, if anyone wants this game I’d hunt for a reasonably price used one soon ...before they are $10k

Went to tilt Studios for my 50th birthday today and played Elvira. Man it is still a blast to play. Stern better make this last run. I will be so ticked if they don’t.

Installed my topper today, i had a bit of a play with the topper settings after reading a few of the previous posts in this tread i changed feature adjustment #280 to 100% and #281 to 100% also, #282 left this as factory settings as not quite sure what this does,

Thanks for the suggested settings mate, i'll give them a go. Mine doesn't have the cracks yours has, hopefully you can get that sorted.

No worries at all, sent Michael an email today and they were checking one in the box that they have, ill probably hear from him tomorrow. they will fix the issue for me.
