Wow, that sucks. Have them look into Antabuse/Disulfiram with copper prescribed off label by their doctor. It's a proven safe generic drug from like the 1930s for alcoholics to make them sick if they drink alcohol so they don't do it, but it's been shown in the last decade to be effective in killing a wide variety of cancers. The mechanism wasn't known until the last few years. Turns out, it blocks the process for cancer cells to get rid of their waste, so they eventually explode (and, well, that's it for them). There are a LOT of studies on it now (check out NIH.gov website for a bunch), but it's not approved for cancer yet (hence the "off label"). It has been used in conjunction with chemo, etc and it does not interfere, so it can be done alongside other therapies as a kind of booster. The copper is important, though, don't over look that part. It encourages uptake of the Disulfiram by the cancer cells, and increases effectiveness.
