Quoted from Hillel:I believe some of you are reading too much into this announcement and posing speculations that may be selling Stern's integrity and loyalty to their customers short. There is no way the company that so many supported all these years, would make us wait more than a year with a deposit on an additional run of Elvira HOH Premiums because of a lack of supplies/parts, and then go ahead and produce this 40th Anniversary game before getting our Premiums to us. I am reading this announcement as an indication that they anticipate having all necessary back ordered parts in stock so they can build the Premiums and then these Anniversary editions. Hope I'm right about that, because that is speculation as well until Stern shares their plans with us. Lastly, doesn't a pre-order deposit lock in the price? If not, I feel like I'm in that Seinfeld episode where the Car Rental staff told him they had his reservation, they just didn't have a car to go with that reservation. Duh
satire at its finest!
It appears like this addition 40LE run is pushing the Premiums even further out. There has to be some time difference in order to have this game make sense. I admit, I really like the look of this fancy version... but if I can get the Premium a few weeks later *and save $20k* the fancy version really doesn't make much sense.
You could get Fancy EHOH or you can get the Premium EHOH + a NIB LE + a NIB Pro and still have money left over for a topper. Wild stuff.
Quoted from Mark1971:was told that Elvira is completely discontinued after the 40th run along with IM,LZ,ST, and SW this is not trolling and I am sure my dealers accurate.
Over the last few weeks there were rumblings that it would be late 2022.. if not 2023. I wouldn't be shocked if they just dropped it all together... at least until they vault it.
Seems super early for them to pull the plug on LZ. It has been out for less than a year. It must have bombed.
Quoted from Mark1971:I am not trying to stir the pot, My local dealer double checked and those games are done. Think what you want but the 40th was the last run. all dealers recieved a build sheet for the coming year, it was emailed to all dealers 2 weeks ago. Ask your local dealer to check the 2022 build list and none of those games are on there. There has NEVER, according to the guy I buy my games from been a game that they left off the list that was made other than vault. believe what you want happy thanksgiving to you all.
There is a chance that they are building it, but are not accepting any additional orders from distributors. Who knowns though… it is all guesswork
Quoted from Mark1971:Its not guess work its in writing I saw it lol I am not making this up ask your dealer, they absolutely have the email. all they have to do is read it.
Jason at Classic Game Rooms still has it listed for sale. He is usually on top of things. I’d be surprised he would have it listed for sale if he received notice they weren’t building it anymore.
Quoted from playtwowin:Seems like December of 22 would be something said if you are very uncertain if there would be another run at all. The fact that no distributor is willing to make a public announcement they are taking
deposits or put your name on a list for this game coming out in 13 months is also concerning.
It would also be nice to hear from a distributor that has people allocated for this game (deposit or no deposit)
If I had my order in with a distributor it would make me feel better if the distributor made a public comment saying I have some games coming in that are already spoken for and they are expected to ship around this time.
Silence is never reassuring.
Classic Game Room is still taking deposits.
Also, hearing that it would be December 2022 doesn't mean that is the *next* build... it could just mean that is the next build that where they still have availability.
Quoted from rai:It sounds like more an attempt to get people to pay over list on the 40th by flippers. I see more resale on the 40th at mark ups. So it’s really known that people buy up the allotment just to flip no intent to buy the game to play whatsoever.
I am not a fan of conspiracy theories, but that may have some truth to it. There are a fair number of the 40Le's still for sale. I think everyone realized that it might be a tough to get people to drop $25k for a game if they can get a Premium (checking notes) for $16K *CHEAPER* just a couple of months later. They may know they are going to build them, and when, but they may not announce it until all of the 40LE have sold.
Quoted from jfh:I don’t buy that. The market for the 40th is totally different than that for the Premium. Very few people can say cost is no object and will pay more than double for a 40LE instead of waiting for a Premium.
Not totally different. I was a potential 40LE customer... I just wasn't willing to go all the way up to $25k when I had a Premium that I was expecting April. I then heard that the Premiums was being pushed so I split the difference and bought a LE.
