Quoted from flynnibus:

Godzilla doesn't hold a candle to Elvira 40th.

You are correct. I've got Elvira 40th and Godzilla LE sitting right next to each other and there is no comparison.

Quoted from flynnibus:

As long as you get any kind of light sheen, the Elvira stuff REALLY looks unique.

When I get a few rays of sunshine in the room, Elvira just pops! The purple sparkles and shines and the green zombie hands light right up. It's really quite a sight to behold!

The 40th decals are just like the BM66SLE ones....

...ask me how I know

I’m taking my sword rod off and putting in an eyeball. Sword is hard on your hands and I’m afraid the tips will break off.

No kind of have to keep it in case sell game down the road. It’s just cheap plastic. The curve pieces at the end move if you bend them. It will break unless you are easy on it. Should be metal!

#657 2 years ago

oh boy , cheap ass plastic , it looks so much like it is metal and shinny brass , too bad

#658 2 years ago

Anyone rollin da bones?

The bones look like they were made for an alien pinball machine

I may end up removing mine as well. Besides being a bit uncomfortable in the hand, I think it sticks out too far. Maybe I'll give the clown head a try.

Quoted from luch:

Mine isn't particularly straight either. The handle and rod are off by at least a few degrees.

FYI for any of your 40th owners that have a 3d printer and want to move the atrocious looking QR scanner: https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/3d-printing-sharing-thread-lets-better-the-hobby/page/32#post-6712543

I moved it and went with double docquest screens. Much better.

There are two different sets of 72 cards each. One set is normal, one is “omnichrome”.

You can have mine for $5500.

The sword shooter is a disappointment to me. For over $20k they could have made this out of metal. Feels cheap, I didn’t install it. Getting the stern clown shooter rod. Everything else is great.

Pics are never going to do this game justice...just staggering!!!!! #131 in the house

Will post my card a bit later

Agreed great card!

#683 2 years ago
Quoted from Vitty:

Agreed great card!

Causing me to lose the ball currently as I keep looking down at it, .

Bourbon night, so just put a couple games on before relaxing after a long week.

Side- I'm the oddball that likes the shooter handle. Plastic- yes, but cheap looking or feeling- no....mine lined up easy. Pretty much every shooter handle I have is plastic, and fits the whole look of the game. Suspect it could be a PITA if in a lineup as you'd bump into it, but looks pretty cool imho.

The cab decals combined w backglass is absolutely gorgeous....I think the 3d of the side is the best I've seen ( including BM66SLE).

It just all fits.....anyway, back to staring at the card a bit...

What is the significance of “last one” one the tape? Is that your writing or Stern’s?

Quoted from jfh:

I didn't write it....was very curious myself, hence me sharing the Pic.

Noticed it when I was unboxing... thought it odd. Had to be done at the factory

What’s your manufacturing date? Maybe the last one shipped?

Certainly close to years end, but I'm #131...you'd think there were more after mine?

They are not produced in the order of the plaque number … or at least they didn’t used to be. Maybe something changed when they added something to tie the LE number to the CPU board.

Yea....kinda weird...hand written on the frog tape ( final taping). Might be the last one of the run?

#690 2 years ago

My date is December 30th so there goes that theory. I think we all better be careful with our decals though as they are clearly out of stock

#691 2 years ago

That seems like the most viable meaning

#692 2 years ago

I remember dealing with it on my SLE, but my house diverter is jacked up again. Top screw came out. I think a pretty common scenario with this game but a little bummed so quickly!

End it happened in the middle of a pretty good four player game! The house just rejected back down the ramp.

Had wizard mod mock up an apron magnet. Got rid of hand on right side so the card will be there. Think it will look nice? I like how Godzilla le has the sticker around everything so this will give that look.

[quoted image]

Looks good! I’m thinking about going a step further, though… making it look even more like Godzilla. I’d like to use the same apron as Godzilla, apply a sticker over the whole thing, and move the reader back over to the right side. As for my signed card, I’d either move it over to the left side or leave it out. For art, either what Wizard Mod did with their mockup, or I was thinking about using the same Elvira screaming image that is part of the topper that most of us will never get to see on our own machines.

That's cool. On mine I need both windows cut out (ie no qr code reader) for the docquest screens...

If anyone asks why the blood is purple, tell them the game was a re-import from the Klingon homeworld.
