Dang wish I would've snagged that magnet when I ordered the screens
Are the cards different on each game or are you all adding them from other sources? Got mine Thursday and it’s a pretty machine - just wish they would’ve given us the topper for the price….

Different on each machine
Quoted from kidchrisso:Look at this card

Nice!!! Can't wait to see what's on mine ( coming this week)....
For what you paid, I’d keep the autograph!
Or send a card for her to autograph if she still does user supplied items
Quoted from joetechbob:Dang, you guys are getting all of the cool cards. Mine's got birthday balloons :/
Thinking about swapping it with a cooler one off of ebay...Minus signature, of course.
[quoted image]
Nice pair of balloons though!
I just got my 40th unboxed a few minutes ago! I haven't had a chance to play it yet. It's late, I don't want to wake my wife, so right now I'm just watching the light show and LCD display.
A couple of minor items...
Upon inspection, my playfield has about 8 to 10 dimples that are near the Elvira and gargoyle art at center right. Do I assume these are the result of testing at Stern? Yeah, I hate to be the guy who brings up dimpling. I'm sure many, many more will come with regular gameplay. But it would be nice to start out with a pristine playfield. Anyone else have dimples right out of the box?
In attract mode, at the end of the haunted house intro, is the Elvira's House of Horrors 40th logo supposed to have awful (and I mean awful!) banding on the LCD display? I don't know if they were going for a fog effect, or what, but it looks terrible. On machine startup, there is a crystal clear still image of the same logo. I just want to make sure we're all seeing the same thing.

I don't have a 40th so I can't comment on the logo on the display you must've paid extra for that but as for the dimples rest assured that's the result of a dialed in crypt kicker and were even included in my premium model.
There were a few pre-existing dimples from the factory when I got my LE from the factory. I put a playfield protector on day one and don’t regret it one bit after two years.

That's interesting that 40th machines have a 40th logo that appears on the display. I wonder if it's special unique code for the 40th or something else on the machine tells the code that it's a 40th anniv version.

Pretty sure they have some onboard non volatile storage for things like this. My Mando LE displays its LE number on boot.

I believe you are seeing the serial number every modern stern shows that at boot of there machine i matched all mine to the number on the back and on the box that's like 5 or 6 digits tho you don't mean it shows like #20 do you?

Yep. It shows my LE number which is 612.

Here’s a snapshot of the logo that pops up after the fly-in on Elvira’s house. You can see some of the banding I was talking about, even though there are a lot of reflections on the display. I’ll have to grab a better shot with lower lighting.
My Godzilla displays my LE number at startup. I don’t see that with Elvira, though.

I got this one too.

Wow that's cool! Thanks for clarification I'm positive my DPLE only does the serial number so that's a very recent update
Quoted from RobbyIRL5:I got this one too.
The cards they are using match a set from the 90's that has 72 cards in it. So there will be multiple machines with the same card.
If you dont like the card you have just buy a set of the cards and pick your favorite. Then you can bring it to the next comicon type show she's at and get it signed for about $40. Thats assuming Cassandra isnt fully retired yet and keeps doing the convention circuit.

Yes - the game name and lifetime play count are stored in NVRAM.
They started adding the LE game number to the text with AIQ.
Pre AIQ, the game name would simply be XXX Pro/Pre/LE (except EHoH whose name was so long all versions say “Elvira’s House of Horrors” with no Pre/LE designation.
Just finished a couple of mods and waiting for the power splitter to have both the apron mini-screens and speaker lights on at the same time. Also completed the Stern Insider Connect after moving the reader to the coin door. Works great. I noticed that the 40th is referenced as an LE on Insider. I'll post a pic with post-mods in the near future.
Quoted from Damonator:All versions of EHoH say “Elvira’s House of Horrors” with no Pre/LE designation.
Which makes sense, since there are no playfield features or gameplay differences between EHoH versions.

What do you use for power splitter?
Quoted from littlecammi:Which makes sense, since there are no playfield features or gameplay differences between EHoH versions.
If there are no code differences between the versions, why does Stern bother with having a different download link for each version of the game (premium, LE, and SLE)? There doesn't appear to be a download link for the 40th version yet.

I bet they do that just to make sure folks find the file for their machines. Expecting everyone to know the LE and Premium (or SE, SLE, etc) use the same file might be tough.

Now I see where the bill validator power splitter only orders are coming from.
When shipping one out today, I noticed that the delivery time for the first class shipping was the same as the priority mail delivery time (and less than half the price). I'm guessing that is dependent on how far away the buyer is from me. In those cases I will start shipping them first class and refunding the shipping savings back to the buyer. Unfortunately, one got past me before I noticed that so I refunded as much as I could and still cover the shipping costs. It's a shame to have to pay more for the shipping than you do for the product(s), but when the products are so darn cheap....there is only so much that can be done.

Should we have received a rules card for the apron? I’ve got a bunch of yellow price cards, but no rules. I’m looking to get rid of the ugly Insider Connected card ASAP.

Yep, nice looking rules card was included in mine

There was one in in the bag stapled inside for me

I think it looks great

Hmmm. A no for me.
Curious did the signature edition have the metallic embossed cabinet art or did only the 40th edition have them?
Quoted from Concretehardt:Curious did the signature edition have the metallic embossed cabinet art or did only the 40th edition have them?
Yes, SLE had the foil.
Quoted from jfh:Yes, SLE had the foil.
ok so it had the heavy embossing like the 40th then, not just the foil like what GZLE has?
I gotta say the embossed rad cal type decals are out of this world. Simply stunning to say the least!

I have not seen GZLE but the Elvira SLE and 40th material should be the same.

Godzilla doesn't hold a candle to Elvira 40th. I think it's mainly the design and how they implemented the materials.. but the Elvira cab is in a league of it's own. The purple in the spiral etc really pops.
As long as you get any kind of light sheen, the Elvira stuff REALLY looks unique.
Totally different materials…. One is a regular decal that has a foil layer and the other is more like radcal like thickness in areas but layered…. Both are great but Elvira 40th really jumps out at you..

Good grief, can't wait for delivery call to get this thing. I always use dimmable overhead lighting for the pf's on the games...sounds like this one will benefit from some extra room ( cabinet) light as well.
Thanks for the updates as prepping a spot....
