Anyone else have plastics like mine? Do I have an early game?

Originals on the left and new on the right.

Second pic shows how plastics like these normally mount.

Anyone have ideas on where to find L shaped mounting brackets or material to make them? Note the bottom one needs to be longer than the others.

Third pic shows two clear pieces that weren't included in the set I got. Is this normal?

None. This is a common part that I have NO idea how to source.

I don't remember that my game had the big rectangular piece. I had two pieces that weren't included in the set. I gave the two old parts the RetrObrite treatment. They didn't come out new-looking, but a lot less yellow. Here's my two treated parts compared to an untreated part.

#1354 3 years ago

I should point out that the purpose of that one part was never clear to me. It was stuck to the ramp in a way that doesn't seem to make much sense.

Reuse brackets or make your own out of thin aluminum. Perforated band iron may also work. This is easy stuff to do.

Does anyone know where the heck the 1-1/2" rings (part 23-6304 .. denoted by the 'D' in the chart on page 2-12) are supposed to go? The chart lists 5 of these but I do not see the letter D anywhere on the diagram on page 2-13. Any help would be appreciated.

#1357 3 years ago

This may help. I do not see 23-6304

The manual is not correct.

#1359 3 years ago

Thank you @Jrotten. This is very helpful.
I got a kit from Game Room Guys. They don't provide a diagram but instead say to consult the manual. They obviously just based theirs on that without really vetting it.
I may point this out to them, in the nicest possible way of course.
Either way it looks like I have a few pieces to pick up or worst case a kit from somewhere else.

#1360 3 years ago

Added a new CPR mirrored backglass to my game today. Thanks to a local collector on the Gold Coast for the deal. Awesome quality.

I didn’t bother with a kit. Did green on the slings 2-1/2” & bought a translucent tub from pinball life that has 125 pieces for $39.95. This way there is enough to do 2-3 machines & you always have the right size if your swapping them out & matching them up. Great quality also. J

Thanks for the additional tip!

Yes, I have those plastics pictured on the left in my sample game and then the normal ones pictured on the right in my later production game and on my HEP restored game!

Still trying to fix my 1/2 out GI issue:

Anyone got a picture of the J9 Plug / Connector on their Interconnect Board?
Maybe I have some wires swapped or misplaced?

Mine is currently :

Just picked up an EATPM the coin door buttons are not working. Has anyone else experienced this and know what caused it.

Finally joined the club and completed the trio of terror! Was able to find a really nice one restored with CPR playfield. I can’t stop playing this pin over and over. The rules are so well crafted and who doesn’t like shooting these ramps? The 3 million shot gets your blood pumping, as does the 3rd ball lock and trying to put a ramp combo together during multiball. I love that this game has no ball save and no sympathy for you when you have one of those 45 second games where you barely touch the ball. This game has that “just one more game” allure in spades.

Does anyone know where I can find the speaker cover with the “Bally” emblem on it? My machine is missing the Bally emblem

I got mine from Marco, but that was probably 5 years ago

#1373 3 years ago

You can give planetary a call - they used to have them but I couldn’t find it listed. Was available from Bay Area amusements but since they merged the 2 web sites I do not see the Bally screen listed anymore. Hopefully it was just missed.

For those of you needing to get a new decal for the backpanel - the one from pinball.center is *ok* but not perfect. It isn't sized completely correctly. It is like a fraction too small. The color is *ok* but a little washed. I had to replace mine due to bad printing and frankly... nicotine stain.

I'll be adding the cutouts after the sticky settles.

Does anyone have a good shot or can detail the plastic posts heights on the right slingshot? I think my original posts were incorrect and now fastening the end of the waterslide ramp is causing some height issues. Basically the ramp ends up too high for the metal post it is supposed to attach to.

I know there are two different post heights in the game, two of the shorter ones (total of four 03-7542-9) are for the outlane difficulty adjustments, do the other short posts go under the right sling?

dmacy you just redid one and made an excellent thread - I couldn't see a picture of the right sling posts, maybe you have a different detail shot?

#1376 3 years ago

Tall Posts under the slings.

There is a Black Plastic Spacer that rides on top of the metal post to bridge the gap you are talking about.

Yep - I *just* looked closer at my pictures from disassembly and was wondering what that was. It's a little spacer. Thanks very much!

Is there a good speaker upgrade for this game? I'm doing the cabinet restore and I figured I might as well if a good one is available. I noticed that Flipper Fidelity doesn't seem to have anything but the subwoofer for it.

Hey guys looking for a really nice restored EATPM. PM me if selling. I will take care of all transit.
Pinkitten yours is stunning hint hint, remember me when the time comes. Have references if needed.
Cheers guys and great game.

#1382 3 years ago

Thanks! I looked around for awhile before I found a collector near me who is a talented pinball restorer. We talked about me possibly buying his EATPM for 6 months before we agreed. I had sticker shock at first, but now I realize it was a smart buy. Plus I had EHoH and a restored SS, so I was able to complete the trifecta! I love all three Elvira pins.

#1383 3 years ago

This was a harrowing experience but wow did it turn out good. I might need to do a build thread.

Awesome job mate. A bit scary the first time for sure. I remember doing my IJ and thinking, if I stuff this up it will be first and last time I try it. Very satisfying when it’s done. Ended up really enjoying it. Dry method first up, the new air egress vinyl really make it a bit easier than older stuff I think. Sorry for the Indy hijack

One of the best bits of advice I got regarding trimming and cutting out start holes was, use a brand new hobby knife. It was great advice. Trimmed start holes freehand and most of front cabinet. Used long straight edge (that I really hoped was actually straight) for the long trims. Cut like butter.

So, I got a phone call at my shop today, asking if I knew anyone who would buy an old Elvira pin. So of course I drove out there and checked it out. Bought it on the spot, for a very fair deal for the lady selling it and an ok deal for me.

But when I got it back to my shop, I realized that it was from the arcade I hung out at as a kid... the arcade I learned to work on pins and videos at.. and it is one of the very pins that I worked on, 30+ years ago!

So chances are, I’ll restore and keep this one, unless someone makes an offer I can’t refuse.

Hi all, I'm looking for an Elvira and the Party Monsters, and was wondering if anyone was thinking about leaving the club. My wife and I loved our Elvira's House of Horrors when we owned it, and now want to get a bit of that feeling back. Also, I miss owning a System 11.

Thanks-Michael

PXL_20210404_024242484 (resized).jpgPXL_20210404_024242484 (resized).jpg

I allowed myself a couple signatures of my own - there's the aforementioned one behind the boards in the head, and then I added some of these under the playfield as wel as L. Christmas.

I like to add trivia and history on my games. I'm still working on the text because it's a little disjointed.

The build thread is mostly done, and is here: https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/elvira-and-the-party-monsters-bewitched-revamp

#1397 2 years ago

For LED lighting and coloring, I like to color match inserts except orange and yellow. Orange gets pink (yes, pink, it makes the orange show up very bright!) and yellow gets cool white. On this game, white inserts get cool white.

GI gets warm white. I do not and will not ever put color under plastics. Plastics have color already; you want to highlight *that* color.

Translite gets warm white with bendies behind Elvira and other areas to dissipate the light better and avoid having little dots behind the translite. I do not color translites.

I use Comet 2 SMD LEDs.

Edit: oops I didn't mean to put this in this thread. Oh well. Now you know.

I really like the trivia you put on the card and especially the history about that particular cabinet. That's a great idea.

Does anyone have a restorable playfield for sale? I'd like to send one to @kruzman, but don't want to send mine... as I am enjoying playing it

Also, is anyone selling a good quality set of replacement decals for targets and such? I want to make her brand new again... Actually, better than new.

Kruzman did mine, he may be able to get you one. CPR has them but from what I hear they were waiting on clear process. Ron does amazing work.
