Quoted from JeffZee:

The standup targets do the scoring. The flip up targets are in front and just for visual effect. But it's a cool effect! Pictures here...

The flip ups also activate 2 more switches behind them.

Shopping my game out right now. What’s the trick to remove the ramp that goes behind the back area? This doesn’t look easy to remove and clean..

Never mind I see it’s two pieces.. lol

Hey Elvira owners - I'm in the process of installing my new CPR playfield and I noticed my ball trough doesn't have a runaway wire gate. Should it? I see holes for it but no wire. No mention of it in the manual. Please let me know. Thanks in advance.

#1105 5 years ago

Mine has been mostly missing since I've owned the game. Hasn't caused me any problems.

#1106 5 years ago

I assume you mean this...

trough-01 (resized).jpgtrough-01 (resized).jpg

All I had was a dangling piece of what ever it used to be. Took out the piece and never had problems.

That is it. It keeps the ball form rolling back into the drain. Mine usually works without issue but once in a while it bounces back after being sent into the trough. I'll make one up and install it. I am assuming it is the standard 12-6542 one.

Just joined the club. I've been wanting one for a while and a local had one he was willing to sell me.
It's in pretty great condition I think.

Just picked one up and we love it. Question. What is the proper post stud size around the slings and return ramp. Someone was creative and used a mix match of different things to accommodate warped plastics.

#1112 5 years ago

Has anyone reproduced the apron artwork? Looking at most of everyone's machines and they all seem to be worn (including mine).
EDIT: I think I found the apron decals. I'll report back once they arrive.

Also, what's your favorite instruction cards for this game?

I prefer these. Don't remember where I got them tho

I got mine at Mr. Pinball. They worked out pretty good.

Finally got around to finishing a rules page. Corrections welcome...

I really like your site, Jeff! I always wondered what the motivation was for the ribbed flippers on EATPM. I thought it was just aesthetic, but nope. The patent information you posted was insightful.

I am trying to work out an issue I am having with my EATPM. There are two flashers (classified as solenoids in test) that aren't working. Each flasher controls a light(s) on the playfield as well as the backglass. Neither one of these particular flasher lights work. They are solenoids 06C and 07C. I guess the C designation means that a relay determines which set of a number of solenoids certain driver transistors will control at a given point in time - the A set or the C set. I know the driver transistors in the circuit for the non working flashers is ok because the A set of solenoids work. The C set for two particular driver transistors do not. What is the likely problem? It looks like it might be two diodes on the auxillary driver board. Or maybe the relay that controls the selection of the A set or C set of solenoids (solder connections on the board?). Or maybe actual connectors on the board? Any ideas on how to nail this down?

Thanks

This might be an easy fix. Check the large white fire resistors on the Bally Interconnect board. I bet you have a bad resistor messing things up. Seems to be a common problem with this generation of game. Test with a multimeter, it should be easy to find. I had a couple bad ones on my board.

#1120 5 years ago

I checked all the large white resistors on the interconnect board in circuit and two of them tested infinite resistance so you may be on to something. I'll pick some up and let you know how it works out.

Thanks Kramertheman

Has anyone dealt with this issue yet on the new CPR play fields?

Quoted from Skypilot:

[quoted image][quoted image]

no, but in a couple more months its going to. Thanks for heads up. My original playfield has had the wire guide mounted in 2 different locations so it'll be interesting to see how good or bad it lines up.

#1123 5 years ago

Anybody have any extra plastics? I only new a couple and didn’t really want to buy full set.
Monster slide
Organ player guy or both guy and organ if connected
The yellow one above center drops, Organ guy on top
Yellow one behind left pop

Quoted from Skypilot:

[quoted image][quoted image]

I had the same problem. Just drill the new hole. That is a small problem compared to the depth and length of the shooter lane. The CPR playfield has a shorter and less deep shooter lane. You can still make it work but it takes a lot of adjustment to get the shooter assembly lined up perfect. It needs to be perfect or the ball never makes it to the top of the playfield. It took me several trys to get it correct.

What did CPR use as a template for things to be off by that much?

#1126 5 years ago
Quoted from Honch:

Could have been a PF change along the way. However, I've found a lot of CPR repro's aren't exact. Don't know if its a case of sloppy work by CPR, or the fact not every original game was the same.

I do a large amount of hardtop prototyping and I can honestly say there are quite a few changes that I have seen in games. I posted the question on 1121 wondering if someone had a different layout.

Yeah, took a while to get here.

The green color isn’t a very good match when compared side by side. But once it’s replaced you won’t be able to tell.

Joined the club again today
Missed it for sure
This one is the nicest Elvira or any pinball I’ve ever found
The shooter lane doesn’t have a mark on it
Even the Mylar still has its mirror finish in tact
Modesty sticker in envelope just the cleanest thing ever
So stoked love this game

I've been a long time reader of this forum and I just finished shopping my first pin, Elvira & The Party Monsters...

I've bought this junk for 100 bucks from an ex operator's warehouse clearance sale

IMG_9122 (resized).JPGIMG_9122 (resized).JPG

... and restored it with the information mostly I read from pinside Never had any experience in restoring a pin before. It took 6 months of my hobby time and now its in my game room.

IMG_9079 (resized).jpgIMG_9079 (resized).jpg

I just wanted to say thank you guys for all the info and would like to join the club

#1134 5 years ago

Question,
I have had Elvira before
My first one had a touch up actual back glass in it
My new one it is glass with the translite
Was there two different runs of the game?
Which is the first ?

Absolute stunner. It would be neat if you documented your process in a thread here, people would appreciate it.

*I* would appreciate it.

Translite is original. CPR re-made it into a backglass, which was hard to find for a long time. Now they are now offering it again, in some different options.

So I put LEDS in the back box and I don’t care for it
Do they make a LED that still retains some of the original ambience I like the original look on this game
Thanks

I have the Back glass and used all of the Comet frosted Twin SMD Natural White and it looks great but I think the frosted Warm White should retain the look of incandescent when using the Translite...

EDIT: This is the budget version without the faux mirror

I'm almost done restoaring my EATPM

IMG_20190403_190804972 (resized).jpgIMG_20190403_190804972 (resized).jpg

But I have a couple of issues for which i could use a little help from my friends
I've got this connector at the very back of the playfiled, and I can't figure out where it should go.
IMG_20190406_182132768 (resized).jpgIMG_20190406_182132768 (resized).jpg

And the other one is I can't seem to be able to enter the menus.
When i press the menu button in the coin door, i just access a music menu but nothing more.

Is there a special process with this machine?

And concerning the menus.
Is there anything special with this pinball, or is it my machine that has a problem?

#1146 5 years ago

There are two buttons of concern. Are you following the test procedures in the manual?

Well I think so...

#1148 5 years ago

I have a feeling that the middle button (up/down) is faulty...
Could one of you post a close-up picture of these buttons and their connections, pleaase ?

#1149 5 years ago

Ok, so it was that button that was faulty...
Thanks guys

#1150 5 years ago

Finally have my new playfield put together and installed! So excited to have this beauty up and running again!
