Quoted from pinmister:I am not bummed and I look at it from a different perspective. If this Kapow(sock you in the face) overpriced business model helps Stern's bottom line and helps them continue to stay in business and make machines-then I say more power to them. When BM66 was released I shook my head in disgust and felt sorry for the people overpaying. Well people ate it up and they seem to enjoy their choice so who am I to say they should not pay that much? Then Beatles was released and again the pricing disgusted me. How can Stern get away with this artificial collecting BS? Now the EHOH is announced with again boutique pinball pricing. Am I disgusted? No I am over it, I now see that Stern is capitalizing on this business model and it looks like it is here to stay. If Stern can stay in business and keep 5 lines running-that is all that I care about. Some games will interest me and some will not, and beggars cannot be choosers.
Now what is the next machine?
If it's Kapow - then they get a % of the selling price - hence the need for the inflated higher prices
but both Kapow pins have been reskins, is this a reskin?
