Quoted from mnpinball:

I think everybody is overthinking that right VUK, maybe it’s motorized and does a semi rotation motion like AC/DC‘s Canon or the T2 cannon and shoots across at the targets on the playfield.

Would be nice, but looking at the pictures from the playfield so called leak, you can see that the plastics are sitting what looks to be flush with the top edge of the vuk.
So I'm guessing its just an old mans dribble out from the vuk hole.

What looks also to be back are the Flying frogs, but now with flying Goils.

Quoted from Reality_Studio:

Ironically, the various hundreds of lady feminists I know in their 20's and 30's are both very familiar with the Elvira brand, always walked up to my Elvira pins wanting to play them, and also view Elvira as early empowerment where she wore what she wanted, looked as she wanted, said what she wanted and did what she wanted without care about the backlash or fear about not being "as a woman should be".

Just like porn stars.

Quoted from Jackalwere:

I'd rather debate this than wade through all the personal garbage and offended reactions people spew on this site. At least this is game-related and it's kind of fun to define what a title will be known as...

Tangentially 'game-related' at best. Plus... we already know what the title will be known as.

Per the manufacturer:

Elvira's House of Horrors

I almost sprained a finger typing out that whole thing. The horror indeed.

I suspect MSRP is 7899/9599/15k for Premium/LE/Signature Edition (not Super LE)

Similar to Batman (three levels/no Pro/same playfield features) but no topper. Despite the price, I think the 50 SEs will sell out pretty quickly to Elvira fans, though I personally can’t justify that $5k leap.

I’ve been told the leaked pictures don’t do the game justice, so I’m looking forward to see what comes next.

Silhouette Mirage

Damn that's a fun game. Never gonna sell that disc, and backed it up just to be sure.

And please for the love of god, don't call this game HoH, because all I can see is "Heaven on High" which is a dungeon in Final Fantasy 14....

#1558 4 years ago

If the pin and prices are as speculated here, I will won’t be playing this at home. What, no large playfield torso of her where each boob is a bash toy? All kidding aside, it looks like it might be fun to play. Stern’s ‘fan’ layout is growing on me, particularly since BKSoR. But the playfield looks a bit thin for an LE.

#1559 4 years ago
Quoted from RobertWinter:

Remember, this game is called Elvira's House of Horrors. The theme is more about the house and Elvira is merely the host/owner.
Elvira is only on the Scared Stiff playfield what, two times? And they're basically mirror image poses of each other. And she's nowhere on the SS cabinet.
I'm seeing at least 3 Elviras on the playfield. Near the crypt entrance, on the plastic above the side targets and in the top window of the house. I agree that more Elvira is always better but you need some balance with the theme elements.
EATPM admittedly has a LOT of Elviras on the playfield but that machine is *named* Elvira.

I know what this game is called, but if I wanted a haunted house theme game I'd buy haunted house... Or ACNC. I just feel that there should be a decent sized image of Elvira on the playfield. All the images of her on plastics and playfield are small.
Think they played it safe. And safe is boring...

Again.. If animations and callouts are great... And if it shoots great... And if the code is great... Then it doesn't matter. The toys could be cool, the art besides the lack of Elvira is good. And I think it reads nice and the lights look in a good location. But, I would prefer something along the lines of what is on Munsters Pro...
I think Stern for making pinball machines kinda lacks balls sometimes.

I vote for EHOH.

I am really bummed to hear it will be BM66 type pricing. I mean that has been the rumor forever, but I was hopeful we would see the pro model (esp after the leaked pics sure look more pro like)

Maybe that castle does some super cool toy feature?

I like the theme and idea, but when I have to compare to WONKA in price then Wonka is gonna win out for me.

15k for a pinball machine? I could buy two NIB pros and mod them to insanity and still spend way less money! Or just two premiums. Wow! Tough decision here!

#1563 4 years ago
Quoted from mnpinball:

You forget this game has been in development and cooking for two years already since announced at TPF 2017

Doesn't mean anything at Stern. Beatles was a wildly different design before Trudeau got busted and it was taken over and completely redesigned.

Nordman being gone to Deeproot hasn't done any favors for the development timeline of 3lvira. You can't count on the machine having an even or long development cycle. More likely it's been in development hell.

My $.02:

Elvira and the Party Monsters = EatPM
Scared Stiff = SS (it only identifies that it’s hosted by Elvira, Mistress of the Dark)
Elvira’s House of Horror = EHoH

Now that I have that off my chest...

On the art, I like the cabinet art a lot better on the limited version over the standard cab as the limited cabinet looks to be more in line with the Party Monsters cab. At least SS’s cab fit in with the theme of the Terror from the Crate. The standard cab for this just looks too generic to me with just some swirl art and the text. It just doesn’t look like it ties in with the machine...maybe if it had a silhouette of the house in the background.

The backglass, maybe it’ll look better in person or in a better resolution. It just looks...off a bit I guess. Elvira looks more like she was drawn for a cartoon and not a graphic novel. Does that description make sense to anyone else?

The playfield. From the one picture I’ve seen, it looks ok. I’m not going to make a final judgment on that until I see everything in motion. It does remind a little of MM and shooting the castle. That is in no way a bad thing as long as the house isn’t just a static target. If we have to knock on the door three times to get it to open, or trigger other events to light up the rooms in the house like the mansion in TAF....it’s the little details that go a long way.

No Topper on Elvira should be a premium feature.

Yes, first reports from distributor streams is this game is really good.

400 LE's will sell out.

You won't be able to sit and wait if you want the LE.

Plenty of premiums though!

Just got confirmation from Rob Berk that Cassandra will have autograph sessions both Friday and Saturday at Expo.

I was on the fence about Expo this year, but that may be the push I need.

I still don’t think 400 is very limited, but it’s a step in the right direction. But it still remains to be seen if there is enough to justify $1700 more for an LE. At least the Batman LEs had the cool topper.

Domestic LEs apparently shipping first this time. Bet some have games by Halloween, maybe even Expo. I suspect this means a very high likelihood we will see E3 games on the line during the factory tour. Sure hope the playfield clear problems have been fixed...

#1570 4 years ago

What I am waiting is what all the LE will have besides the better cab art. Will the LE be a translite or a backglass... Of course it has powder coating. And a shaker... Maybe a cool shooter rod.. .But, what else will the LE have different. Because, from what Nord said it is only one playfield. Will have the same toys... So I'm curious what this will have... It would be cool if this came with a topper... We'll see... Doubt it though.

“Leaked pictures don’t do the game justice”

How many times have we heard that one?

The BM66 had the topper, Adam West signed card and limited to the 240 episodes which also made it cool and unique

Looks like the 400 LE buyers, too many for the “boutique edition” will get the shaft by comparison?

I personally don't care about the scarcity of any pin. I own only one LE. A MBrLE. And 1,200 is not really scarce, that is a top selling pin nowadays. I bought my MB because I thought the pin looked just amazing. Loved the topper. ANd it does add a great light show when you're playing. I think the etching on the lockdown bar is super cool and I wanted that as well. Powder coating I don't care about, but it does match and makes it look nicer. And really having the shaker in it already. For the MBrLE that means it really was a nice bargain for what you got over the prem.

But, again with all that said. I hope stern will make the LE package include some really cool stuff that is on the pin, to justify the price jump.
We'll see... But, I will also say... If you want an LE... Contact your distributor NOW!!!!!!!

Most recent LE's have come with different Cab Art, a real Back Glass, a Shaker, Powder Coated Side-Rails, Hinges & Lock Down Bar, HD PF Glass, 5" Coaxial BackBox Speakers and inside Cabinet Art.
I'm guessing a Topper & Shooter for SLE only (& hopefully a LOT more for the prices we're hearing).

When will pricing be officially announced?

#1579 4 years ago
Quoted from CrazyLevi:

Elvira existed solely on TV, PG-13 rated movies, and beer commercials. She's about as raunchy as an episode of Three's Company.
I'm not quite sure people are really even remembering Elvira correctly. Maybe getting her confused with Linda Lovelace?
And yet it seems like if the game doesn't feature her getting titty fucked by a horse or gangbanged by the Universal Monsters people are going to be disappointed that Stern made the game too "PC."
Seriously folks - if you can stop reflexively typing "SJW" over and over, what are the "raunchiest" things in the previous Elvira games? "Nice organ?" "That'll get him up?" Are you really worried that Stern is going to nix stuff like that at the behest of feminists who all seem to like Elvira anyway? (at least the ones I know).

I only know her from the C64 games, and the first one was pretty, uh... adultish...

You die. A lot. Horribly.

And Elvira is also there.

#1580 4 years ago
Quoted from luckymoey:

Surprised the playfield and art work are not more creative. Assumed Nordman and Freres had been working on the design for years. Seems like Stern is going to lean heavily on the animations, call-outs and rules.</blockquote

I like it, but think it looks 10 times beter in real life.

None of the editions will come with a topper. Don’t know if Stern will offer one as an accessory.

Signature Edition is autographed and has hand drawn cabinet art, couch memorabilia and some other stuff.

Haven’t hear that. Would be awesome if true, but not holding my breath.

The $1700 delta between Premium and LE is in line with other recent titles so I doubt we see more than different art packages, art blades, shaker, powder coated rails, shaker and maybe Stern low glare glass.

Forgot about the art blades... Those do look cool...
So I got 2 questions then for the people out there.
Should I get blade protectors if I have mirror blades or art blades on my machine. Just curious if I need to be wary of scratches.

2nd question. Is the antiglare glass actually that much better? or is it just for people streaming.

For production pins I agree with you. For LEs only Batman 66 could truly be considered limited at 240. And it was the art package and topper that made the difference. Stern’s best LE to date was Star Trek and that certainly wasn’t limited at 799.

I think Stern has probably set the Elvira number at 400 because that’s low enough to move the fence sitters at launch without leaving too much money on the table.

But the current concept of LE is really meaningless because if you really want one you will be able to get one so “limited@ is more marketing gimmick than value.

I don’t have any of the Stern anti glare glass but the other two brands make a significant difference in my game room.

I'm hearing that a portion (or possibly ALL?!) of the SLE's will be sold by T.M.O.T.D.

No, they arent forced to buy it. If they get shafted, its because they chose to get shafted, by Elvira!

"Distributor Streams" will NEVER say ANYTHING other than good things. They're businesses trying to sell games. They're not objective and never will be.

Sorry, I don't see that we're in a world where 400 Elvira fans all rise (heh) simultaneously to fork over $10k for a pinball machine. They're probably sell eventually...but not day 1 like Metallica. That's a theme that never had a game to satiate fans. There are 2 Elvira pins already most hardcore Elvira fans already have and are happy with.

50 Super LEs will prob all sell right away, though...always at least 50 speculators or mega-richies to sell 50 unplayed unfinished untested hype boxes.

Unless the reveal is an absolute dud I’ll bet 400 LEs are presold by Halloween, if not by the end of next week.

Don’t know how the Premiums will sell, but 400 LEs will sell quickly and easily. I’m pretty confident Stern has a good handle on demand.

And if the game shoots well and Lyman makes the code as immersive as Batman those “no Pro; not buying” folks will drop that mantra and take a serious look at a Premium.

They will be "sold" because Stern forces them onto the distributors. Doesn't mean they are earmarked for a customer though. Looking forward to playing it for sure.

True. But this is the case with every game. Don’t you think Stern has a really good idea of how many LEs distribs can sell through at announce? Look at Munsters. Very anticipated theme. Presold the initial LE allotment so fast they increased LEs to 600. Games were sold to customers before anyone realized the code was going to be so basic.

This theme + Lyman will sell 400 to end users no problem. I agree with whoever said if you want an LE call your distributor soon. 200 in the US is a slam dunk.
