Calling all Gottlieb Freddy owners.

I just acquired a Freddy and I'm putting a new shroud on. In the manual (see pic) there are 'A''s on each end of the shroud. According to the parts list these are the tapered black bumpers. While it seems like there should be something in there to cover the metal posts, I don't see how you could slip the metal shroud holder/bracket in place and still get bumpers on them. Any comments as to how people have set up their shroud and if anything goes underneath it in the way of bumpers?
