El dorado gameplay error

I have an El Dorado that is displaying some unusual behavior.

Start a game.

The ball kicks to the shooter lane. As it passes over the switch before it rests in front of the plunger, the roto-brain starts spinning. The lights on the lit target ( and the pops if memory serves ) start flashing.

When the ball drains, ball count does not advance.

What should I look for?

Thank you in advance.

Was it working correctly before and then just started doing this? Or is this bringing it up after a restore?

After the game reset, the Ball Count unit should be on "ball 0" (effectively). Then when the ball gets kicked over to the plunger, it passes over that switch in the ball trough, and that's what should cause the Ball Count to step once, and go to Ball 1 (so it's not from draining the ball).

But the ball trough switch shouldn't be causing the score motor to run. To get the score motor to run, usually a relay needs to activate and close a switch. So one thing to check is whether any relays are energized/energizing when this happens. Some of the ones that activate the score motor on El Dorado are A, O, S, and W (the others being score relays). Maybe O is stuck active.

Got it fixed. It was a stuck switch on the lower pop bumper.
