Eight Ball
Bally, 1977OK, so there doesn't seem to be any repros or overlays to be had out there. Is there anyone in California that can do a restoration and or touchup and clear coating for a Bally Eight Ball playfield. I think this would be way out of my skillset to take on. Any ideas on what this may run cost wise? Any help would be appreciated.

You are going to fully need to strip the playfield in preparation for shipping and restoration.
I have no idea what his backlog is right now.
Cost of touchup prior to clearcoat is dependent on severity of damage.
If the damage is too severe, the playfield will be rejected.
It is a "by the hour" cost for many ($35-55/hour)
Generally cost is going around $200.
Clearcoat baseline cost is less than $100 per coat.
Most good restorers will use a minimum of 2-3 coats.
Total cost will be between $200 (baseline) - $500 (high end) + shipping.
Many others that used to do good work are now long gone.

I am picking up a spare used EB playfield this weekend that was already touched up, but needs to be reinspected for long term restoration.
Completely, stripped and unwired.
No significant wear including around the slingshots, planking, ball swirls, mount post reams, or insert sinkage.
Better than most restored games, unless NOS or reproduction playfields were installed.
I plan to have it clear coated in the next couple of months.
Just keep it in the back of your mind, and ping me after the new year.
I have not decided if I am doing another playfield swap.
