Can anyone tell me or show me picture of the Squawk and Talk Sound board for EBD 1981 installed? I want to confirm that since I bought a new sound board and the old one has been out for so long that the pin connections are correct as the picture shows and nothing goes on the left side pin connections. ie the twp pin connector on the right side then nothing on the third pint and the long all the way to the left. This may seem elementary but I don't to blow anything on the new board. Also the new board doesn't have any pots but resistors installed where my old one had pots sound volume and speech volume. Why is this??

The board I sent might not have had the POTs? I usually install them but I have had some where resistors were just soldered in place. That might have been one of them. Didn't think to look when I tested it. It was rebuilt a couple years ago. They are inexpensive if you want to install them or send it back and I will. What they are for is to be able to adjust the voice volume and the background separate from each other. The actual master volume is adjusted with the pot on the coin door.

Try it out. It sounded good to me when I tested it. Once the two on the board are set you rarely need to adjust them.

Sorry about that.

see pic of board you sent. If you have two of them I can solder them on. Use the refund you said you were giving me if you want shipping because my paypal account doesn't show the money sent back yet.
Also please confirm the pin connections in the last picture. the old board has been out so long I forgot where the two pin goes. and that nothing goes on the other pin connections.

Yeah I seem to recall that Big Daddy was temporarily out of the Pots a couple years ago which is why the board has fixed resistors installed. It works perfectly though and sounds great. Perfect blend between voice and background sounds. I tested it before I sent it to you. I had a bunch of these rebuilt and this was the last one.

I refunded your excess shipped several days ago but for some reason it didn't go through. I will send you two Pots for your board but you might not even want to use them after hearing it. Your choice. Of course if you want, you can return the board for a refund too as long as you don't blow it up or damage it.

In your picture you are connecting the speaker wires to the wrong pins. Also, those connectors look pretty-shady. You might want to consider replacing them.

Here's where the speaker connector goes:

Yeah I have sound! Thanks for the answer. Just FYI this game was in a tractor trailer for many years and was given to me. I want to get it all working then fix the cabinet. Now when turning it on, the sound works but doesn't really boot up. It won't take balls and after plunging a ball, nothing works-no pop bumpers, switches or anything. The lamp driver board seems to light all the lamps and score. Could you help me troubleshoot? or give me 3 steps of what to test first? or what information you would need to do that? pics of solenoid driver board and MPU and bottom inside cabinet.
Also notice the side of the cabinet seems to be missing part of the wooden rail. Can I see pics of yours?

The first think I recommend is to rebuild/replace every connector.

That's the way the rail was done for this game. If you look at the corresponding areas under the playfield to where the "blank" spot is you will see why.

As for booting, what does the LED on the MPU do when you turn it on? It should flash real quickly and then give a series of blinks.
