Is an Eight Ball Deluxe LE playfield exactly the same as a 1981 playfield underneath?

Yes. I have both an EBD LE and Centaur II. I think the paint scheme on the EBD makes up for the goofy body style.

The only problem is they are a bitch to move around if you have tight doorways and the cabinets are made out of garbage wood and not plywood.

But I would not think twice about buying one. They are every bit as enjoyable to play as the standard cabinet game.
