New to the forum...
Had an EBD (‘81) for 20 years and a new playfield from CPR. Trying to swap out and convert to the socketed lamp boards used on EBD Limited. I have both my EBD and a limited playfield to use as a guide, but the Limited is a little hacked here and there.
My question is relative to the playfield fuses. My EBD has 1 fuse, Limited Edition 3. I know the 1 amp gets the 2 browns and 2 yellows for the coils...same as original.
What do I hook up to the other 2, for lighting. Looks like they both have a line (1 blue, 1 black with white stripes) that runs back to power board. Then, I assume I just ground the other side to lamp sockets?
Anybody done this?
Thx

Thx for the reply...I just ordered the Limited manual. I literally matched the Limited wire for wire with my original, until I was only left with what looks like grounds to groups of light sockets, since much of the ground wire is removed when using the boards. I’ll see what the manual says.
Thx

So, finally took on a full playfield swap of my '81 EBD. I converted the individual lamps to to PCB boards, as in the limited edition. I have used this site for many good tips...only fair to post a pic of progress thus far. I went a little overboard on the zip ties.

Thanks....yes countless hours in, getting ready to flip it for the top side.

I bought an old limited edition playfield on ebay to obtain the PCB boards and then used that as a guide to swap for the individual lamps. First time swapping, so I actually matched each wire from the limited that matched mine then removed it from the limited. When I was done, I was left with the commons and 3 fuse connection wires that I needed to adapt mine. There are probably better ways, but it seemed to work well.

Yes, they actually matched perfectly. Each individual lamp corresponded to a board position and all the colors were spot on.

Maybe just lucky there??

Question...

Re-did my ‘81 EBD from the ground up.

Last time before I disassembled, it was blowing F3 at startup. I was not concerned since I was restoring.

2 years later...I fired it up and blew F3. All new boards, even S&T from Jim Askey. All re-pinned, all new coils, all new switches. Literally, everything replaced.

So, if I disconnect pins 8 red and 9 orange from the J4 connector on power board, it boots and does not blow fuse.

All lights work, most solenoids but the SEB ones, but SEB is good in test mode...lamp flashes and clicks. No sound, but I have pins 8 and 9 disconnected.

Not sure where to start, since I am mostly ruling out a bad component, since all is new. Whatever is wrong, I had it before the disassembly.

Thanks!
