Don't want to hijack your thread, but thought I would chime in. My recently acquired 8 ball deluxe just started doing something very similar. All of a sudden, my 7 drop targets won't reset, and the ball kicker doesn't work at the drane hole and the top saucer hole... I checked the fuses like you did...not sure what to do next so I am watching this thread closely. When I run the self test the display flashes on 01 and rings...

you are correct! lamp was flashing indicating a problem. Traced it back to a wire that had come off the left slingshot. This caused a chain reaction as the expander wasn't clicking, so I had no kick out and no 1 or 2 ball targets.
Soldered her back on and I'm back in business! Chalk up!
