Eight ball was my first pin, a gift for my 50th bday. Apparently it arrived pregnant because it now sits next to a couple other pins.

I have a question for the club...does your break shot lane kicker sometimes activate when the ball hits one of the slings? I’ve tried adjusting the switch to reduce the frequency of this happening but if I widen the gap too much I run into the problem of it activating too late to save the ball. Argh! Maybe it’s a trade off...

Quiet club....

Yesterday I took off the spinner to finally apply some new stickers I’ve had lying around. I gave it a quick clean, and before putting it back on I thought about lubing it. Not having any appropriate lube I simply applied some carnauba wax to all the contact points...

Wow.... it changed the game! 10k spinner rips are now 25k at least! I had a blast playing it into the night, something I haven’t done on eight Ball in a while.

Quoted from djreddog:

First thing you gotta do is drop a power ball in the game.

I’ve seen power balls in eight balls before.....I’m curious, what is the reasoning behind this?

Quoted from djreddog:

1. It represents the cue ball.
2. It makes the game play fast.

I get reason number 1.... but reason number two could apply to any game, right? I’ve seen 2 or 3 instances of powerballs in an Eight Ball but not in other titles (TZ excepted of course) so I was wondering if there was some explanation I was missing that pertains to eight ball’s specific design or gameplay.

I never knew these Magic Eight conversions existed! Thanks for sharing...

Quoted from RC_like_the_cola:

Pretty sure it's blank on the back. Can double check in a couple hours.

I’m not sure if mine is original, but I have arrows on both sides. The one on the back is upside down, so when it spins you always see an “up” arrow.

It makes me smile to see one of these restored to its original glory.
