Wow, this is hard to believe

Well, this might not be popular but Ozzy might still be alive because he is a happy nice guy whereas EVH seemed to be a asshole. He seemed to alienate everyone he came into contact with at one point or another.

I saw them quite a few times. I remember us kids being heartbroken when we heard that EVH had kicked DLR out of the band. There would be no more VH. Van Hagar was good, maybe better but it was different. I took my son to see them on their last tour where DLR sat and ranted about God knows what for 30 minutes. Glad i got to see them one last time.

Drinking and smoking is pretty much the way to get throat and mouth cancer. That and reflux.

I saw VH in the early days with the real DLR and then with Sammy and later with the old short haired defeated DLR who rambled on and on about God knows what. I enjoyed the hell out ofall of them but to me VH was DLR with long hair jumping all over the stage. Took my some with me to see the last show they did in Houston and it was special because of that. He loves it.

I know its not good to speak ill of the dead and it sucks that he is gone which means no more Van Halen, the slight hope that they might do one more tour or produce one more record is gone. I mean we go to these show knowing that we wont see what we remember when we were teens but we are still chasing the dragon, one more shot to remember the old glory days, one more show before they hang it up or die. But, the idea that Eddie Van Halen was a saint is, going by everything that I have seen, false. He treated Valerie so badly she was afraid of him and divorced him. He raged at and fired DLR because he dared so a solo album. He ostracized Sammy and treated him so badly before kicking him out that Sammy said he never wanted to see him again and kicked Micheal Anthony out of the band as well. Looks to me like EVH was a giant flying douche bag. That being said, I will miss Van Halen and I do not like to see anyones life cut short because of cancer

At the last VH show I saw with my son there was this guy that smoked one joint after another the whole show. When the show was over he was still sitting there. He said he was waiting for his son. After further questioning his son was not at the show, he was just so wasted that he thought he was.

Yes but it wouldn’t be Van Halen without the high pitched screams and background vocals.

Lol. I have to agree. EVJ talent would have been wasted and can you imagine those two egos clashing.

Yesterday was my birthday and my wife bought me a turntable and records and one of them was Van Halen. Man I miss seeing Van Halen live. He was a great artist till the end.
and DLR was better
