I was surprised to receive an update code for WOZ today. I picked up my proto around Christmas and it was running 42P with Thur's new update, WOZ will be running 49P This pin is set up for FREE play at Lark Amusements in downtown Bristol Tn/Va if anyone is local and would like to see the update process in person, we will be doing so between 3 and 4pm Thursday. I take plenty of pics and video. Here some pics of the inside of the pin and the update drive itself, Also in the box was the new stronger coil for the vertical up kicker discovered after more testing by JJP. PM me or call Ronnie at 423-764-8383 for more info, you dont have to order to play.

#4 11 years ago

Good to see progress.

#5 11 years ago

Thanks for the heads up. I'll look forward to what was added in this software update.

#6 11 years ago

WOW, they use SSD's ??

#7 11 years ago

Yes. 64gb SSD's

#8 11 years ago

Solid State drives,... now that is impressive indeed. Seems that they are going all out at JJP.

I hound the IT guys at my job still asking for an SS drives at my job..but it's not in the budget. SS drives are pretty much best most reliable you can get these days. And also quite FAST.

#9 11 years ago

I'll be right over.

Oh wait. Darn.

Well have a great time anyway !

LTG : )

#10 11 years ago

Looking forward to hearing the new details...

#11 11 years ago

Wow, nice looking OS!

#12 11 years ago

I am curious, how big is the code file?

EDIT
I must be weird, I got a bigger buzz from seeing the adjustment screen than any other picture

#13 11 years ago

So is this how updates are planned? I wonder how big the actual file is? Is the harddrive that was sent to you only to do the update...or do you swap out the old drive (if there is one) for the new one?

Good question IMHO. I am interested to see how much of the drive is utilized.

#15 11 years ago

That's very cool....thanks Dough! Please post some of the tweaks and play results later tonight

#16 11 years ago

Do they actually send you an SSD drive that you swap out or is it on a USB stick and you update it manually?

#17 11 years ago

Obviously this is a special circumstance only for prototype machines where a LOT of data will be changing - such as all those HD video files.

Final machines will use USB or Internet/network update, and I'm sure it'll be some incremental system so only what's changed is applied (no sense downloading gigabytes of unchanged video and audio).

Correct.

I have to agree that is the first time that I was able to see what may be the top level menu options ?

#21 11 years ago

So how is it?

#22 11 years ago

He said he would be doing the update around 3 or 4 PM (eastern time) so he has a few hours to go.

#23 11 years ago

Should be testing now.

#24 11 years ago

Drum roll please.......... Any info yet ?

#25 11 years ago

onward and upward ,love updates

#26 11 years ago

Well?!?! I'm dying down here in FL!

#27 11 years ago

I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve.

#28 11 years ago

Maybe they can't tear themselves away from the incredibly enhanced machine long enough to post anything???

#29 11 years ago

Maybe it still plays like its always played.

Then why update if there are no changes?

#31 11 years ago

I just got back in, no school today but they tried to have school with a 2 hour snow delay before cancelling. This put me a little behind, plus I was puzzled how to get the image on the tv correct, remember this is a prototype. The best news is I lost more time playing as all of a sudden its 7pm. I have a little video as I didnt have enough memory on my card. Pics will be up soon, got to get the kids in bed in case of school Fri and grab a quick something to eat.

Thanks again for looking!

It flips the same way but looks and sounds better. 47P not 49P

#33 11 years ago

But Buddy, was there much of a change?

#34 11 years ago

Sorry, I posted as you were answering this.

#35 11 years ago

Remember this is for the prototype not the finished pins that you own, but here is the progress.

Playfield after 46 days, the playfield is so smooth even on the edges. Playfield sits nicely on rails

The hand is added for scale, learned this from Finding Bigfoot so everyone can see the size of the boards.

According to the screen, you're missing 2P... Where'd they go???

Thanks for the pics. Nice to see new views of this pin. I'm looking forward to mine showing up eventually, but not looking forward to lifting it.

Your welcome. I wished between the memory card space, low battery and figuring out how to flip the HD TV I didnt get as many pics as I wanted or could have.

I upload the video to my you tube soon with some of the new music.

2P on the floor is not good. Be careful not to slip.

So what all did this update change?

It is heavy and to get these pics I had to move Roadshow, another heavy pin but the cabinet is built so well. I wished they were all as light as Ironman as I have moved four of them the last month and they seem so easy. WOZ pin will move again to the Lousiville Expo in March, then to Kingsport showroom for rest of the month. WOZ will also be in Winston Salem for the www.auctiongamesales.com Feb event before the other moves and is still set up at Lark Amusements in Bristol. New ACDC Premiums will be in stock soon so call on them if you missed out.
