That's what I get for making a typo in my notes (it has an N in *my* version, I checked!). Back to 50% success with last names. Apologies! I might even remember to issue a correction, but I should probably confirm pronunciation (Shell?).
Incidentally, the proper way to mispronounce mine is CRY-sell. That's the most common way.
Quoted from NicoVolta:Great episode as always. Will Pinbot win the System 11 round-up because it already won the overall? Or will it get bracketed-out by another System 11 challenger? Will be fun to see.
I think it's in trouble. Last time I kept the assignments to 1980-89, and so a few System 11s from the latter era were not in the mix. But, I will continue to hope.
Quoted from NicoVolta:BTW, I shall never again question your affinity for the Freedom prototype. Considering doing a conversion from a traditional one as a future project. And would love to join you guys for a EM rap session sometime. Will return before long - gotta stock up on some Christopher Elbow chocolate (Kansas City based). Darn good.
Darn straight! Those Slam Tilt guys might hate any creativity in flipper design, but Tony and I are willing to allow pinball to explore all sorts of variants. A true master of the game would learn to adapt to differing flipper geometries instead of relying on memorizing only one pattern. How can we celebrate something like the Bally Class of '81 for its unique experiments whist spitting on the past ones? We can't I say, we can't! Unless of course it didn't work, but it did, so we celebrate (when it failed we mock and ridicule of course, this is pinball after all).
I bought Elbow chocolates once for a Mother's Day gift, they are pricey but Mom didn't disown me so I guess that's a good review. Total non-stock-up non-pinball related, he also has an ice cream shop. Glacé Artisan Ice Cream (http://www.glaceicecream.com/). Did it for a party I hosted one time, again, everyone loved it, but I'm too cheap to make that a regular thing.
You can, just guess and make things up. It's what I do! Or, actually, it's configured so you can leave choices blank on questions you don't know. System 11 is an interesting set of games. I'd summarize them as having a popularity spike over the last 2-3 years in the U.S. because they can be had for cheap (now I suppose relatively cheap) prices and offered:
1) Ramps (some people don't care for single-level);
2) More complex rules than the early 80s;
3) Fun sound packages.
And, very few are total dogs. Bugs Bunny is, though. Well, he's a rabbit, but he's also a dog when he's a pinball machine. Seriously, if you ever see one, try it just to see how awful it is.
