Hey guys. Setting my game back up at home after I took it to the Cleveland show and it worked great the whole time. When I got her all set up, sound worked great but then the background noise started going in and out. It would stay off for a while then I turned it off for like 20 minutes then it was back on at boot up. Then in the middle of the game it goes out again. The speech is fine, it's the sound effects and background noise. Starting the think this game just doesn't like me and only wants other people the play it. Haha

I had background sound issues on my EBD.

I bought the rebuild kit from GPE.

Replaced all the caps...everything works great now.

Cool. Yeah I don't think it's anything on the board cause I have a completely rebuilt one. Since it worked fine before I left and all weekend, I'm wondering if maybe it's something with any of my connections. I guess something could've failed after being on all weekend?

Your board has new volume pots installed? That's usually what it is.

Yes. I believe they are new.

Well, I would try anyway...the one labeled sound and spin it back and forth a few times. I guess connectors are always suspect.

I agree. try turning the sound volume pot back and forth a bit on the squalk and talk board. If the speech calls are all correct, (Like when you hit the #4 target it says "four ball" etc,) then your address lines to the board are probably good. Tip: put the machine into switch test with ball in the outhole or a target down so it "dings" a switch closure and fiddle with the sound board connectors and volume pot. Rick

Cool. I will try turning the pot for the sound volume tonight.

Messed with the pot and seems to be good to go again. Thanks!
