It is interesting that this is mentioned, as I have often thought about this before when I talked to my insurance agent. The agent always talks about what is covered, like flood, fire, lightning and wind. What I always ask is "What is not covered?". Which they always seem puzzled about. So I mention meteorites, space junk, earthquakes, volcanoes, sink holes, airplane crash, war zones, nuclear attack, etc, etc... You can bet that damage from most of these things will probably not be covered by insurance, or at least, probably not... They are certainly not mentioned as being covered if you read the fine print. They are also highly unlikely events, so they are largely ignored by insurance policies.
