I have a Basement Arcade sinking institute mod to install. The install requires removal of the clear ball guide at the top of the institute because the guard would prevent the institute from sinking. However, on my game the ball hits the ball guide after launching from the upper right VUK and rolling across California/Nevada about 50% of the time. Seems like removing the guide would lead to the ball hitting the institute and potentially falling to the playfield instead of into the ramp. Has anyone encountered this problem?

Thanks for the confirmation. I observed the operation of the fault some more and found that the metal actuator has worn (under the playfield) which allows some extra wiggle above the playfield. I'll have to try and find a replacement.
