Quoted from DuffysArcade:Joined the club! My pinball bride joined me Monday to go pick up an Earthshaker from a seller in central Netherlands. I had been searching for one for a few months and this was the most reasonably priced ES I'd seen in a while. The game was used in the break room of a dental laboratory and had been beat up pretty bad. There's playfield wear above the flippers, ball swirls, a cracked ramp, raised inserts, broken plastics, and the text is worn off many of the inserts. I've already begun to strip the playfield so I can clean it and really see if I'll be able to touch it up. A CPR playfield is another option. I got it pretty cheap so there's still room in the budget if I need to go that way. I almost walked away from the deal, then the seller accepted my low ball offer. Well...here we go again!
The YouTube Channel has more details and I'll post progress there.[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
I just purchased a cpr playfield… they just became available, I’d get one while they’re still around or it could take a few years for another round. Good luck
Quoted from DuffysArcade:Yeah, the more I think about it...you're right. I just ordered a playfield. I've done plenty of paint touch-ups before, but the inserts are all screwed up as well. And I don't think I'll get much out of those ball swirls from the small amount of cleaning I tried last night. The paint was lifting pretty quickly. I think I should get a repro while they have them so I don't regret it later.
I got this baby 1.5 years ago from a bar in Jerusalem for about $800. Right away I took all the Mylar off and thought it would do as long as a new playfield wasn’t available, but since this became an option a couple of weeks ago . I’m now gonna wait for it to get released from customs (maybe tomorrow?) and hopefully to replacing it soon enough. Actually got two but a friend who has an ES wants it so we’ll probably do the replacement at the same time.

I believe there should be a post there.
Chris
Yup there’s a post there, saw
It earlier today…
Now that the new pf has cured, it was time to get to work. First seven hours went by fast and good fun was had by all

Should I chalk this up to an over-tightened post on my part or is it a vision of things to come? This is a CPR playfield that I just finished 2 weeks ago and I was cognizant to not over-tighten anything as I re-assembled the topside. Only about 30 games on the new playfield.

Did it have a month at least to cure? If I remember correctly you got this after mine, I’m getting to mine only now after the cure.
Just thinking of a reason why this could be happening
Quoted from dmacy:How has the playfield been for holes and dimples for you?
Left that part for my friend who is helping me on this project and is way more competent than I. He’s had some work but I won’t be a good source to tell you how much effort it took
Can I ask for some help figuring out the correct T-nut thread size needed for Earthshaker?
So many different sizes and lenghts to choose from, ill never get it right.
Prob need to replace a good 15 or so while swapping the playfields.
Which would be the one to get?!
Thanks in advance

Quoted from DuffysArcade:They are all pretty much the same size except maybe 1 or 2 that have a longer barrel. I think 1 is a 6-32 thread but I cant remember where. I removed and re-used most from of them from my old PF and the vast majority of them were 8-32 thread and about 1/4" barrel length. I had to replace a few that were stripped or the teeth were broken off of...so definitely order at least 5-10 of this size. Just pop one out from the old PF with a thin flathead screwdriver to verify the size.
I would also recommend to pre-drill tiny guide holes for the teeth of the T-nuts. I placed them where they needed to go and pressed them into the wood a bit to make small marks on the wood, then drilled 3 small (1/16") holes about 1/8" deep. This helped keep the teeth straight as I tapped the T-nuts in from the PF back side. Without doing this I had some T-nuts fold their teeth over flat as I tried to install them.
thank you!
New rail. cleaning of the braids and boards. Back box repair. We’re moving along nicely

I got two of the same (the one that’s in stock in the photo), but it’s a single, correct for the right side.
For the left one I obviously need a dual leaf switch for the two flippers that are on the left.
I’m guessing it would be the one in the other photo, but seems like it’s not something Marco stocks up on. Haven’t been able to see it elsewhere
Thanx
Quoted from rmillman:Found it in Europe. Check this link. https://www.ministryofpinball.com/en/switch-dual-leaf-contact-assy.html
Otherwise you may have to build it.
Thanks, I just placed and order with them a week or two ago which is on its way :-/ oops
More progress today. Had an amazing friend I met through the hobby help me out with a ruined backbox which came out beautifully imo. Prepared some of the plastics, and added the post by the flippers which had to be drilled in.

That’s the original cabinet !!!! has some scuffs but gorgeous on both sides, so not touching that.
Edit: in case you mean the backbox decals those I got from someone in Croatia but for the life of me I can’t find the email or pm here to send you his name.
More progress from today. We get together every second Friday to move things. In between those Fridays- what needs to be ordered from the states/Europe gets placed immediately- and usually arrives by the next time we get together.

Since we’re busy putting it back together I was thinking maybe I could do something with the back.
In other news - Got my chrome plated wireforms in today. Looking forward to seeing them in the new PF with the new plastic set

1.
Can someone please tell me what the correct threading for the top slingshot posts are? I have a broken one and don’t know which to order.
2.
The connectors on the backbox. What size are they? No worries about the positions just the correct diameter. Got a kit for wpc95 and those are too small. There’s no kit for ES and the likes.
Thank you

2. Which board and number does the one go on? Believe it is .156 you’re holding.
Thank you. The one I hold isn’t necessarily the one I need to replace but generally that size. The whole wiring is out together with the boards so I wouldn’t have a clue. Just picked a random one up for the photo.
Thanks again!
Quoted from Photopin:Did you have the old one's chromed or did you buy new ones? I need a replacement for one of mine and can't find them anywhere.
Exchanged mine for chromed ones from pinball plating. Great service and amazing results.
Pretty much done with top too. Next are the boards and putting everything into the cabinet. Hooray

A)
Can someone point me in the direction of a new double leaf switch for the left flipper button? Is the one in the photo correct? I have one which arrived but the leaves are too short.
B)
What would be the correct size for the GI connector on the boards? I think it’s a 9 pin connector but I’ve ordered twice and can’t seem to get the correct size. (0.156 ?)
Thanks

Quoted from nerdygrrl:Both look spot on to me.
Great, but what’s the right size? I just took a random shot from Google so I’m not sure
Quoted from PPS:All ... we have the original states tooling and was going to run them to have in stock.
Would there be any interest in a perhaps a transparent version with a decal which woudl let some light thru? Just if we run them now would be the time to try something like that.
Input please.
Team PPS
