Quoted from jibmums:

One other possibility is that a former owner may have replaced your flipper coils with ones that are more powerful than factory spec. That could bang the ball around quite a bit.
blockquote>

Yes, that's what I suspected just from how much damage has been done to the plastics, but I checked them out and they appear to be the correct coils FL-11630.

I pulled my playfied to make some adjustments. When pulling everything back in I spotted this loose wire. Any idea where it's supposed to go?

Quoted from dmacy:

I wish I could help by trying to unhacked one myself. I’m looking for some pics of the interconnect board J7 and J9. Hopefully someone will post some pics for both us.

I'm assuming the same thing happened on mine. Someone installed a new female plug but left the burnt up male connector on the board.

I just noticed the eject wireform has broken loose at the base where it screws into the playfield. Is there a way to repair that or where I could find a replacement?

When you've got no one around who welds chrome you take it down a notch. Feels solid but we'll see how it holds up during game play.

Just as a follow up. The JP Weld did not hold up long...oh well, worth a try

Quoted from Andypc:

I occasionally get a ball stuck here when trying to lock the ball, which is really frustrating. What adjustments do I need to make to get this to more consistent and follow the channel to complete the lock.[quoted image]

It looks to me like you're missing the blue rubber pad at the end of the wireform. Without that on, it can change the ball location when it's trying to line up with the grooves.

Quoted from PinballGalore:

Has anyone ever seen a backboard decal for Earthshaker? Since we’re busy putting it back together I was thinking maybe I could do something with the back.
In other news - Got my chrome plated wireforms in today. Looking forward to seeing them in the new PF with the new plastic set
[quoted image]

Did you have the old one's chromed or did you buy new ones? I need a replacement for one of mine and can't find them anywhere.

Is there any place that makes replacement wireforms for Earthshaker?

Does anyone know the part number for this wireform?

I'm finally getting up the nerve to install NVRAM on my game. I don't do board work but have been doing a little practicing.

My question is, I was looking at the chips on my board and wondered if the PROTO labels on the sound ROMs meant they were prototypes. I was also wondering if these were the original CPU ROMs .
Along those lines, what do the ROMs sold on Inside do? Are they just replacements or upgrades. Sorry for my ignorance I just don't know much about these things

Quoted from Jmckune:

The sound ROMs are prototype but the main game roms are production (revision 1). In order to see if the rest of your game is a prototype, we’d need to see pictures of the cabinet and the earthquake institute from above and below the playfield.
I have a prototype/sample Earthshaker (serial 142) that has a factory screened cabinet top and bottom and has the factory sinking building.

Finally getting around to replying to this.
So, mine does not have the sinking building, however, the cabinet is screened both top and bottom. Does that make it a hybrid-proto?

I'm trying to replace the sleeve on this coil but I can't figure how to get it apart to do that.

I'm having an issue with the vertical ball ejects on my machine. The ball will pop up and down several times before it comes out strong enough to eject all the way. Actually, having the same issue on my NASCAR as well. I thought it was just worn sleeves that changing those didn't effect anything.

Also, on Earthshaker, I'm having an issue with the lower eject not kicking out cleanly if there is a second ball in the subway channel.
