I was looking for an Earthshaker project and this one fell in my lap. I had to save it. I spent a long time folded in an operators warehouse, then as a parts machine. I’ve been busy with playfield swaps and other things but finally cracked I to this one. The game is totally beat but actually plays. Boards are clean and everything works, surprisingly.

The playfield and 2 ramps have had it. I managed to get a CPR playfield. The CPR I got was total crap. It had weird planking lines and color splatter. So I had to fix and re-clear it. But really had no options.

Clear turned out fine. No issues but I’ve done many of these. Also piles of new parts coming in.

And my favorite part, playfield swap time.

Looking great!

#7 4 years ago

I had a shot at buying that before you
But looked like it was in a lake or pond
With all that water damage.
Anyway looks great so far

That old playfield is amazing. Lots of games played on that!

Yea no water damage anywhere. But It definitely spent a lot of time in a warehouse that was hot and humid. The playfield is so dry. But it will turn out great.

I just started in on my PF swap this weekend. I almost feel guilty replacing my old PF after seeing the condition of yours!

Yes. I would of taken your playfield. Minor touch-ups and some clear.

I've been humming away on mine. I found the repro ramps were significantly larger than original, and required some significant trimming on the edges to make them fit into their space.

Next weekend I should have it playable again

How's yours coming along?

Working on my playfield swap now. I'm having problems with the (wood screw) posts. The holes as predrilled are too small, I've broken a post while installing into the new playfield.
Since you have completed yours successfully, I was wondering. Did you drill larger holes? Did you use any screw wax to make installation easier? What was the trick to not breaking the posts and wood screws? If you know what size holes you drilled, please share.
