I just bought a Meteor and the apron was held down by a couple of zipties. Does anyone know what size and head type of machine screw and washer I need? The T nuts were gone too so I can't use them as reference. If I remember correctly the washer is bubble shaped and brass. I can't find it on any website.
It's the little things which make a game great.
Thanks,
Dan

I would use an oval head machine screw that will fit through the hole in the apron matched with a finishing washer and t-nut of the matching sizes.

The washer you are looking for is called a finishing washer.

Home Depot stocks both the oval head machines screws -- length may be a problem for the size, and finishing washers. I would go with stainless steel versions.

I bought stainless finishing washers at the local Ace hardware store. I'll send you a picture of the original screw when I get home. The length of the screw is 2 5/8" (from the bottom of the fluted head). It is a slotted screw as opposed to a phillips.

Thank you. I didn't think local places would have that kind of washer.

The trick is knowing what to ask for. I have a problem obtaining the slotted oval head screws. Philips oval head everywhere, but slotted oval heads difficult to find.

Does it matter for phillips or slotted?

Only for originality purposes.

Quoted from SealClubber:

Seems you have a source to find Classic Sterns .. I'm looking for Meteor and Flight2000 for ages,; no more sterns here

Waitin pictures !

Pics will have to wait, Lionel, as all my machines are in storage until I move into my new house.
I got both my latest pins from non-hobbyists.

Lionel (lb45):
not to derail, I know of someone selling a flight 2000 which was recently restored (new CPR playfield, backglass and playfield plastics) as well as being completely shopped out.

if you're interested, I would be happy to give him your contact information to try and arrange a deal. I'm just not sure what would be involved in trying to export it from here in the states to france.

Hi j_m_

Thanks for your help, but i'm afraid about the price ;

You can't ignore the difference about the price between us and France markets, the difficulty due to the exchange Dollar/Euro rate, and the shipping cost.

For example, i bought my quicksilver 125 Euros , my Stargazer 400 . just added an Altek board, on some new parts.
Hard to believe i'm sure from your opposite location.

I'll continue to look for the machine in France . Longer the research, better the news when i found the machine.

Thanks again to you !
