I am really starting to enjoy a few of the early Solid State games I have played at the local arcade. Now that I understand the rules, Meteor, Flight 2000, and Kiss are tons of fun and play very differently than newer games. I had a chance to play a 1980 Black Knight a few months back and loved it. I am debating rotating an early Solid State (1979-1983) into my collection in the next few months. Looking online, Black Knight, Black Hole, Paragon, and SeaWitch seem to be solid choices for early Solid State games that are not absolute unobtanium. What other early Solid States do you guys think rise above the rest?
There are a few early Solid State games and older games I don’t care much for. Freedom 1776 (love America, not a huge fan of the game), Playboy, Strikes and Spares, Stars, and I HATE Old Chicago. I don’t like old games that play real slow.
I’ve rotated a dozen or so games through my basement in the past few years, but High Speed (1985) was the oldest.
From what I have seen, Black Knight and Black Hole are at the top of my list.
Just looking for ideas and recommendations to dive into for further research.
Thanks all!
