I've got the older F14 too and would love to get the blue LED displays.
Once you reverse the connectors, would you mount it on the same location, or would you need a Z bracket or something?

Or how about instead of right angle connectors on the backside, just using normal vertical ones reversed?
This would eliminate the need to swap the female pins on the wiring harness, yes?
