early DE vs late flipper rebuild kits compatible?

The diagram below is JP that uses the later kit, my Hook doesn't have the spring retaining bracket (circled) or holes for it on the flipper plates for the external springs.

Edit. Don't think it has the parts that spring attaches the other end 21 & 4 either.

These are the later flipper bracket parts added from JP onward but as mentioned above the Hook plates and earlier may not have the mounting holes tapped (even though they have the same DE part number). I don't know if this spring setup is any better or to do with the EOS switches being added for JP onward.
