I am ready to take the plunge on LEDs in our Bally machines and will start with just the GI lighting.
Once a manufacturer enters the market with an easy, good insert and controlled lamps product I will probably do those too.
So who has the best product for this era of machine. Nothing too bright and preferably very visually similar to incandescent 44/47s?

I used warm white frosted 44/47s on my early Bally SS games (Mata Hari, Strikes and Spares, Elektra) I felt they were the best quality for the money. Slightly brighter than incandescent, but in a good way.

I second the warm/frosted LEDs (I've used cointaker premium non-ghosting). This is a slightly later example, but I just tore down the topside of my Vector (#555) and kept incandescent for the above the playfield bulbs and color matched frosted LEDs in the inserts and it looks amazing. Very vibrant but not overpowering in the least. I was not looking for super bright look.
