Does anyone know where you can purchase the plastic containers that fit in the inside of the cash box on an Early Bally Pins? It appears it has TWO containers? One BIG and one SMALL one? And the have tabs sticking out on the edges? (See Pics ). Any information, advice, suggestions , is appreciated! Thank You!

The operator I worked for removed them as both chutes were for quarters so we did not need them. They made handy bins for parts in the shop or service tech vehicles. The 3 chute doors had SBA Dollar coin chutes in the middle which went unused. Even if a few strays made it in, The coin counter/wrap machines just let the SBA coins stay in the bowl.
Divots are for "security". If padlocked in place and the door opened by a tech, The padlock was to prevent them from accessing the cash. The divots were meant to prevent pressing on the cach box and flexing it enough to disengage the lid so one could reach in and grab coins.
Older cash boxes by Bally had steel dividers that slid into tracks of the cash box. Lift the dividers just a bit and the dimes mixed with the other coins.
Ummmmm Interesting! So is my cash box the correct one for the Silverball Mania Bally (1980) ?
Also, the plastic coin boxes have tabs on the edges of the box What was the purpose of those tabs?

yes. the tabs were there to hold in the plastic insert boxes. Usually it was one large plastic insert and one small. That matches the tabs in the box.

As Mr Bally suggested, I’ve gotten most of mine from Operators when buying stuff from them and they gave me them for free. Most of them were shocked, “you want these old junk bins??”
It would be nice to know which came standard with what.

You are correct. I'm thinking of the Williams cash boxes from that era that had the narrow tray for the center chute.
Note that Williams trays are tapered on the bottom-front as well versus Bally trays that are flat.
My (probable) HUO Strikes & Spares, has the 1 small / 1 large red-brown trays.

What's the brass pipe for? First time i've seen that.

It's for the tech, to slip over the end of the circuit board mounting stand-offs. Pushing the pipe over the plastic pin, squeezes them so you can then pull the board off the mounting pin. (in a push/pull action) Similar to the tool used to remove Molex pins from their sockets.

Be careful, without the top on it those Bally coin boxes have a sharp front edge, and it is usually rusty to boot.

Funny I spoke to this guy on private chat a week ago Mike Tolley and gave him a price for $3 a piece for each container and $8 for the shipping Total $14 . The white container is stained and might be permanent. He said he tried to remove it however it did not come out. He declined my offer and said he was going to put them on eBay for kicks and giggles!
And sure enough there they are ! Lol Thanks everyone for looking out for me Hopefully I can find some without any stains!

Just spray paint them with 2X rustoleum. That’s what I did with mine. There are a few antique off whites available if you want an aged look.

Scrub them really well with a scotch bright and mean green or some kind of degreaser cleaner and just mist several really light coats a few minutes apart until you get them looking like you want and they should turn out really nice. As long as you clean them and rough the surface up with the scotch bright and apply thin coats they shouldn’t chip paint away from the coins.
Lol Nope it wasn’t me! I saw the ones on E-Bay going for crazy prices. I for one will not pay that kind of $$ for a plastic box. Great idea Arcane! Somebody could make a fortune reproducing these coin boxes in different colors selling them at a reasonable price. Maybe Marco Specialist would be interested? You probably could get them made in China for a cheap price and double what you invested!
