Are you in that camp, Vid? Because you've always been of the mindset (at least in your posts) that sales and success equals quality. The Eagles aren't my favorite group, (top 20 maybe and Don Henley is in my top 10 for vocalists), but they represent near perfection in the studio and live to me. They're almost the polar opposite of The Ramones in that regard, but I love both for what they bring.
I think these band pins are about the laziest and lamest themes, if the pin makers are going to be lazy and use a band as a theme then why not revive some sweet already existing themes? Thats a better use of laziness.
Id much rather see a Xenon 2.0 or a Firepower 3 than some boring ass Drowning Pool or Dan Fogelberg or whatever other lame band suggestion people always throw out there.

Xenon is basically a Suzanne Ciani pin, so a sequel game might be a good compromise.
They once asked Don Henley if there ever will be an Eagles pinball machine made and he said “when hell freezes over”. At least that’s the story I heard
Quoted from drsfmd:If you need a stage show and pyrotechnics to supplement the music, you have shite taste in music.
Well that describes 100% of the live shows of new music acts today…..full of pyrotechnics/lasers and BS…is it needed…no but it makes for an EXPERIENCE.
Quoted from Don44:They once asked Don Henley if there ever will be an Eagles pinball machine made and he said “when hell freezes over”. At least that’s the story I heard
Well here it is live from one of their shows
I would love to see a great hip-hop-themed pinball machine (with a censored/uncensored option) but I know the chances are slim to none due to the lack of interest in the majority of the pinball community.
With that being said, I'm surprised there isn't a Pink Floyd machine yet.
Also, I think Rage Against The Machine would be badass! Or even Nirvana! At this point, even Daft Punk sounds good!
We will always have the classic music pins (ACDC, and Iron Maiden (two of my favorite music pins).
But Let's get some new musical choices going!

Well played sir

Investors Business Daily used to have it's most valuable trending chart, that showed what the majority of non institutional investors were doing.
Whatever the majority of people are doing, you should do the opposite for the smart bets.
Same with music.
If too many people like an act, then it must be middle of the road dreck :

I agree with you that people have different tastes in music.
But, I think you are getting so much resistance, because at the time, the Eagles were a combination of the two worst forms of pop music; Soft Rock and Country.
If the Eagles came out today, they would combine Country and Rap, forming a new genre called CRap
Quoted from Psw757:Well here it is live from one of their shows
Lol that video is great because it shows exactly how slow and boring a pinball machine would be with Eagles music in it.
I could see how a Bowie pin could be really immersive-- especially if the IP included the Ziggy Stardust era stuff... but I don't think there's enough of a fanbase to make that one a good seller.
As I've said before in similar threads, there's no title (including the Grateful Dead) that I would buy sight unseen. There are LOTS of themes that I wouldn't buy because of the the theme (pretty much all band pins to date, including Iron Maiden which I think is a great layout).
If there's enough of a base to sell Iron Maidens there certainly enough for Bowie. The guy was in the industry for like 50 years with lots of pop hits. I would rank him number 3 among the brits with the beatles #1 and the Stones #2.
Quoted from Pinstein:I would rank him number 3 among the brits with the beatles #1 and the Stones #2.
Kinks were up there in the British invasion and had a lot of hits, but would not want a pin of the Kinks.
Some folks might want a Lola pin since that's in fashion nowadays.
Rihanna is the second best selling female star of all time.
She loves Judas Priest.
If we could get Priest to do a duet (like Halford did with Baby Metal), you could have a combo that would bring in the cool kids AND great-grandpas alike
There would be lots of rubber and leather.....
Quoted from cdnpinbacon:Looks like its working pretty good with Adam Lambert and Queen
After a decade, they have not killed each other yet.
It won't be long until Adam will be in Queen longer than Freddy....
Somebody To Love
Quoted from hAbO:I like the Eagles but you need something with a little more energy for pinball.
Give me one of these guys...

Rammstein?
Quoted from usandthem:Just a Yacht Rock pin in general. Make the ball twice as heavy so that it moves nice and easy and chill.
LOL Might as well make a Jimmy Buffet Margaritaville pin. Stepped on a pop pop...blew out my flip flop.
Quoted from Sandman33:Jimmy Buffet Margaritaville pin.
Buffett is similar to the Dead. Huge following. Just like the Dead, I wouldn’t under estimate the allure of Margaritaville. Besides, who doesn’t like the beach?
I think if it's a band oriented pinball, it's gotta be something kinda heavy or stoner rock.
That said, I'd like to see a Fu Manchu machine. And the graphics could be surf/van/stoner rock oriented.

I get what your saying and like the different kind of heavy your suggesting. It’s a departure from the typical metal pin. Fu Manchu is awesome and so is Brant Bjork and Earthless and Kyuss all those types of bands. However, you and I can keep dreaming . I can’t imagine there are more than 10 of us on Pinside that would be into that type of pin.
Quoted from McDoom:...Or even Nirvana! At this point...
That could work. Not sure about the theming, but the music - yeah.

Gee, went to the Hotel California concert this year in a full stadium. Not an empty seat.

“Some people claim there’s a woman to blame”

They could have propped up Michael Jackson's corpse and you and the rest of the NAMBLA crew would have packed the stadium.
Quoted from cdnpinbacon:“Some people claim there’s a woman to blame”
Pretty much proven since the first 2 people walked the earth
Quoted from cdnpinbacon:Biggest American rock n roll band ever?
Fun fact - the Eagles were actually formed when Linda Ronstadt was putting together a band to tour behind her latest album. After jamming together they knew they had something special and went their own way.
Quoted from pinballkim:If they could get Ozzy to do custom callouts that would be spectacular.
Nobody would UNDERSTAND them, but that would be part of the charm! Lol
Quoted from Haymaker:I guess I'm the only guy who wants a ZZ Top pin (Getaway doesn't count)
ZZ would be a cool pin. I just happen to be an Eagles fan. And kind of tired of mostly hard rock pins.
Quoted from cdnpinbacon:The kinks greatest hits /double album is blowing me away
Great stuff. Have that in my CD jukebox.
Quiet Riot Greatest Hits must be a short album.

All of Quiet Riot's hits were covers of an English band named Slade
So if you buy Slade's Greatest Hits, you actually get 30 hits (and a drummer that could actually play on the beat).
Slade - Mama Weer All Crazee Now

SLADE - Cum On Feel The Noize

SLADE - GUDBUY T JANE
