Quoted from metahugh:WOW the bottom of that cab came out really clean!
Game will be ready for your xmas vistit.
Looking forward to your TZ thread.
Quoted from TAB:If you want to install a new mini-pf - take attention of the position of the nuts.
My one has them a little bit too high. So the mini-pf sits on the playfield.
Must cut it a little bit.
It's a CPR.
Seams i am the only one with this problem, but want to give a infoSDC11946.jpg 63 KB
If you don't want to cut the pf, you can enlongate the holes on the mounting bracket.

I had the same problem and elongated the bracket holes
see my thread - CPR my Doctor Who is not a dud / oddball

TAB- thanks for the heads up. I elongated the bracket holes as others have suggested. I considered running it through my table saw but didn't want to do an undoable.
So made the front smaller with 2 mm.
Now it works fine.
Front wood with black colour and Cliffy. Looks good
Quoted from bbaker2824:Awesome work. Impressive
Thanks. Hoping to share some powered up pics shortly.
Let me clarify that "shortly" is relative to how long I've been working on this thing. Still waiting on a coin door that was suppose to ship today. Cross your fingers.
I have started a new file for printing. All vectorbased .
But i am not the fasted man anymore because of illness.
Give here a sign when have them finished.

Will be setting up a Wordpress blog like my old one for TZ... going to be a TON of work!
Can't wait to play some Dr Who. Another game I had and should have kept longer.
Scraped the inside of the cab dicking around with stuff. Ugh. Game won't feel so precious once I start tilting it nightly. I know the game makes me look obsessive but I just fix it to play the hell out of it.
Need my coin door.
Over an hour this thread has been sitting out there...not one person responding with:
"that's what she said"
tsk tsk

I submitted a podcast to the one and done talking a little about my restoration and mostly just rambling about nonsense.
I recorded this using my iMac and microphone from an xbox so please forgive the quality. Intro music is dedicated to all the Whovians.

btw... I'm a scout leader. BSA does not like you really modifying the Boy Scout uniform but there are ways to add your 'pieces of flair'.
Leaders don't have patrols, so I created my own. Enter the "Tardis" patrol. The boys think all us leaders are older than dirt already. The Doctor is over 900 years old now...so, that should put me in the zone

That's brilliant. I want one even though I have nowhere to put it.

For $3...you can't afford NOT to have one

Quoted from Fairground:Does not ship to Australia
I'll get you a patch and send it with the DW ramp
decal.
Door delivery update..shipped yesterday
Oh, thank you Taylor, I really appreciate you doing that for me. Great to see the door is getting closer.
I wonder if there is a mod to have the sound of the door opening to match a dalek or doctor or tardis prior to the warning?
Really coming together Taylor...hopefully I can see this in person...getting inspiration to get my Paragon started
This is amazing! I haven't read this thread in 10 months and it's inspiring at how awesome the progress has been since I last saw this! Well done sir!
Posting to this thread has been a real highlight of this restoration. I couldn't have done this restoration without the resources that the pinball community offers one another. The list is long of people I need to thank.
I was given the door by a friend in the hobby. It is the appropriate style for this era WPC and they seem to be pretty hard to find. I had another Pinsider offer to "restore" the door for me. As it was the door had four rivets on the bevel that needed to be repaired. This is how it arrived.

Harness on the door was never cleaned nor were any parts tumbled.
IMG_4729.JPG
Service switch bracket was missing by a screw and was just dangling in place.

As of now I have completely disassembled the "restored" door and am giving it a proper restoration.
Should have it done by the middle of the week.
You won't know what to do with yourself once you are finished.
Is there such a thing as pinball restoration withdrawal syndrome????

I know what to do..PLAY!!! : )
Quoted from Fairground:How disappointing for you Taylor. Looking forward to your restore of it.
It is what it is at this point. I'm just happy to finally have the door in my possession. It was over two months ago that It was sent to be restored. These doors are incredibly simple. The only trick in restoring them is to get a good flecking pattern to recreate the original texture.
Here is a link to a DIY instructional that Treasure Cove did years ago.

Hmm..I have a buddy with a box or 2 full of NOS WPC coindoors from that era. He gave me one for my DW in payment for work I have done. Maybe I should get one for my WH2O as well. No clue they were hard to find!
Quoted from johnwartjr:I've never seen complete NOS doors of this era! I've got a NOS skin, but it's just the skin. Been saving it for that 'special' restoration.
I can post a pic of mine (still in the plastic bag!) when I get home. I am thinking I may have got a smokin deal
Wow just wow. That sucks man......What a ghip!!! Restored door my butt! Hope you can fix her up fast.....You have been waiting a LONG time to play. Good luck man...
