It's been fun. You SeVA folks need to roll up our way.

#114 9 years ago

Wow, for an amateur you've done a stunning job. I'm going to have to bookmark this one. Keep up the good work.

#115 9 years ago

Just dropped in on this topic. Awesome job as usual Taylor! "Hobbyist", maybe but a damn good one. I've seen first hand some of your other work on restorations. The attention to detail is really first rate. Good luck!

You do some damn nice work, Taylor.

#117 9 years ago

I have been watching this thread from the start and figured it was time to comment. Fantastic job. This is my grail pin - so that much more for me to appreciate.

Keep the updates coming!

#118 9 years ago

thanks guys, means a lot.

keeping busy

Printed off replacement ramp switch bracket decal. Thanks to Freeplayer40 for
awesome art file. Decals are on glossy decal paper and covered with Mylar.

Installing speaker wiring. Thanks to Tony Dziedic for the best DIY speaker upgrade instructions.
His guide has been around for almost 10 years and is still an invaluable source to pinheads. Well done and thanks for keeping around. If you are a friend of Tony's pat him on the back.
image-138.jpgimage-138.jpg

Wiring my cabinet. I'm fortunate to call Chris Hutchins a friend and have had the fortune of
Having him over semi-regularly to my house. Knowing that Chris is going to lay eyeballs on my machine gets me to
add that extra harness clip.

Would like to someday get some decals for my machine and get it looking like this if it stays. This is a fantastic rebuild you've got going. If you have any more of those decals...

#121 9 years ago

lower cabinet wired. Installed LEDs to illuminate flipper buttons, under cab lighting, upgraded speaker wiring and remote battery holder mounted on front cross member.

Thanks.

I was really happy to find momentum again on this project this summer. On previous projects my goal was to do at least one thing a day so that there was always progress no matter how small. This one, at some point, got away from me and getting back into a groove was difficult.

There is still plenty to do and I do not want to rush anything but the light is certainly at the end of the tunnel.

Taylor, understandable. With spending more family time with your wife and kids, it's easy to let projects slip. I'm spending more time with my granddaughters (13 mos and 11 mos) than I am working on my own restoration projects. Don't mind it a bit. Enjoy them, they're not little forever.

Keep up the good restoration work! I "steal" tips and tricks from every one of these restoration threads. I like learning new stuff.

I certainly hope I have my priorities straight and always put family first. I only have so much pinball time in me and the last year has been mostly playing instead of restoring so I can't complain too much.

The summer was nice as the kids didn't have to be up so early so I just started working into the mornings most days.

Boards installed.
IMG_4249.jpgIMG_4249.jpg

#135 9 years ago

Hey, I notice you don't have any cheap AA batteries on that CPU board ready to drip evil all over your new game.

You should get one of them thar new fangled remote battery holders

Or perhaps you know someone that makes them...

Looking GREAT!!!!

seen that as well....hopefully metal protectors are hidden under them to keep them off the actual cab/decal or he will be sad

I am using them but the cab is protected from them(oh, the irony.)

I have them on other games and just like the look of them. I did them on my Wh2O cab restore as well and the way I protected the cab they didn't affect the decals at all.

Hi Taylor, thanks for your great updates. I have this instead of the 4 batteries now, thanks to Ken (skybeau) when he did his magic with the boards [att=1876170,409244 caption="

I bought this game selling remote battery holders so it only seemed fitting to use one.

Thanks for posting. The gap between the head and body is really interesting to see. I made the gap only about 1/8" but my body doesn't sit on the head with about a 3/4" gap. I don't think it will be too visible once the bubble is installed.
