Elongating the holes is easy and allows a point of adjustment.
Shaving the front of the MPF is forever and could crack the clear.

Look at this photo Allison took. The CPR replacement is offset in a weird way. Never seen actual trimming of the CPR MPF but it's been talked about and the poster is usually talked off the ledge
