    Some people were shown a picture (a 5 sec peak) of the new playfield. Different (better) color scheme, same layout .

    - green around the flippers / slingshots (dwarfs and a big Arkenstone near the flippers)
    - going to red with smaug his head in flames
    - and higher on the playfield going to a blue / watery color scheme

    pop bumper barrels had tree placeholders

    If this artwork looks bad enough, it might be the straw that breaks this camels back. I thought it looked fine as it was.

    That description sounds a lot better to me. I always thought Smaug & the Erebor throne/treasure rooms needed to be featured more prominently on the playfield art. If the new art solves the four "floating in the sky" trapdoors, then I'll be really happy. Those need to be integrated into the artwork better.

    I really hope that Hobbit shows well here or people are going to bail on this game.

    Interesting to see the new playfield art and other changes.
