Buddy picked one up and has been having a problem with the ball getting hung up on the skill shot gate. Anyone else have this problem and more importantly have they fixed it?

Quoted from Clnilsen:Ok, odd question for you. My shooter seems really weak, and I'm not really sure whats going on. Funny thing is, this is the second D&D pin I've played with the same issue.
I have a new shooter rod with new plastic sleeve (housing? bushing... not sure what to call it) and am using a red spring which I understand is the strongest. New shooter tip rubber. When I pull back, the ball barely gets out of the shooter lane.
Everything feels smooth, but it seems like the strength isn't getting to the ball. What am I missing here?
The playfield has a little play in it so the shooter rod is hell to get adjusted. I have actually had to grind out a little wood from the cabinet to move the rod up high enough to hit the ball dead center. The other thing to look at is the rod itself seem to be pointing down a bit so if you sneak a washer behind the top of the shooter rod plate it can tip it back that millimeter or so it need to be perfect. You will know IMMEDIATELY when you get it right.
