Anyone know of a way to get a dump of the lamp matrix output?

I want to get the attract mode outputted to a file that I can then feed out to rgb leds with a raspberry pi or similar connected to the back of a playfield hanging on the wall.

Maybe someone has done this already? I guess another way of doing it would be to have an emulator running and just feed the lamp matrix directly to the leds. Problem is pinmame is windows only and wpcemu is js written for the web.

    What game?

If you get pinmame compiling it'd be really easy to dump the matrix from there. Reading the actual hardware probably isn't worth the effort.

So I managed to compile pinmame on raspberry pie, connected a ws2801 rgb led chain and dumped the lamp matrix out on the led chain via the SPI interface and its working just fine!
