No, this isn’t a flame post. Quite the opposite. I want to give some massive recognition to dumbass for his boards and board work. I had a tz power board that was hacked to hell (though I didn’t know when I bought it as I didn’t see the back side of the board). After a day of ownership, I lost 12v UR and was lost on trying to fix as the board was just too far gone (pics below). So I messaged dumbass about his wpc89 board replacement. He replied immediately, gave me TONS of info, and I promptly ordered a wpc89 power board.

He built it to order, shipped it rapidly, 6 days order to delivery. And what a MASTERPIECE it is. Worth every single penny. As plug and play as you can get with clearly defined markings and a beautiful layout.

Please, if you need boards, don’t waste any time in contacting him. So impressed.

Old board is a disaster. New board is a Rembrandt.

    How does one contact dumbass...?

    #3 3 years ago

He's a very knowledgeable guy. I've meet him before at the northwest arcade show.

Yup. May strip it for parts. Not much else to do with it. I’m sure I could get the 12vUR working again but why bother? It’s a dumpster fire.

He doesn’t post much on Pinside, I found this thread where his work his covered in detail. I don’t need any of it for now, but I am always amazed and appreciative of work like this for pinball.

Man, that old board has some stellar soldering work!

I’ve used a few of his boards and he has helped me out quite a bit. His work and others like Weebly are the true superstars of pinball today.

Not sure who the artist is but they should consider amputating his fingers. Lol.

Wow, I’m surprised sold you a board like that in good faith!! The thing was on its last leg and fading fast!

He’s one of the best - super knowledgeable and great with tech work and a solid dude.

    #13 3 years ago

I've seen way, way worse than that board.
To be sure, there is some hackage there. A lot of that was just burned connectors that were not addressed over a long period of time, perhaps an operated game.

Figured if anyone could fix it you could but would it be worth it vs a brand new one in your opinion?

Many of the traces are pretty messed up.

It will never be a beauty Queen but it can be made to be completely functional. Given the prices of new boards, I’d fix it and at least have it fir a spare.
