Got a new Shadow pin. My first pin. One of the drop targets in the battlefield is sticking. It feels like it has too much friction unlike the other targets that drop and return easily. Should I use lubrication to solve this problem. I thought I remebered reading on the forum lubrication usually causes more problems than its worth. Any advice would be helpful.

No!Do not use any lubrication,That target mechs probably needs cleaning.Drop target mechs sometimes get gunk on the metal parts and needs to be clean off.

I just went through this same problem on my newly acquired Judge Dredd. Problem turned out to be a lot of gunk in the mechanism, and extra drag caused by the aftermarket stickers;

I would highly recommend cleaning the drop target assembly as best you can, and then add ZERO lubrication. I asked at least a dozen folks for advice on my issue, and every single one advised against adding lube.

Good luck.

Not sure about the Shadow's drop mechanism, but sometimes you can loosen the screws which mount the entire assembly to the playfield and shift the mechanism a little so the drops don't bind on the playfield as much, then re-tighten.

ten bucks says someone probably lubed them in the past.
now the lube is hard and gummed up with dirt causing them to stick.
remove each target, clean and reassemble, NO LUBE.

Never lube, always clean.
