I have been having issues with the switches on my STTNG and in my travels under the playfield, I came across something that may be wired incorrectly. I the picture below, there is no resistor (I think that is what it is called, me and electronics are just getting to know each other). Soldered to the switch that registers when the drop target drops. The pink connector, when removed, shows a lug (again, I think that is right ??) that looks to have been desoldered at one point and used for the connector. I have posted a pic. Am I correct about the resistor on this switch?

Took the old switch off and found that the solder joint was disgustingly dirty (took a bit of doing to remove). The old switch was the wrong one and the lugs were bent and broken. Took a shiny new switch and put a diode on it as instructed and resoldered the wire in place. Turns out that all the issues I have been having with random multiballs and random mission starts (and a lock lighting issue I didn't even know I had) were tied to this switch problem. The game plays just like it did when it was new.

Pinball repair (when it goes as planned) is just as fun as pinball play! Thanks for the help.
