Just rejoined again after about 10 years I remember paying about 800.00 back them, still a great deal and am having a lot of fun, looks very nice no fade but the persuit flasher on the right is cracked just like my old one and the plastic was impossible to find back then ,has anybody remade them,I know most of us have cracks and they would sell well

I would take a set but if you don't make them could you tell us the best stuff to bend and how would you do it,I thought a copper pipe of the correct diameter and vice it up them use a propane torch in the hole to heat it up and then bend, what do you think,I could be way off

Quoted from wizard_mode:

I would use a steel rod or round stock and a household kitchen oven to melt polycarbonate over it. Steel will deform less than copper. Without ever doing it, this would be my first crack at it.

I made one with a pipe and it looks ok and will be great with new stickers, does anybody make the stickers?

I just finished the cooling tower mod and am very happy with it,I Attached the tower to the socket to simplify things a bit and number 2 tower looks to be a bit brighter, reactor could be running hotter.i glued the nuts on the socket to ease attaching the towers and you may need to poke a hole or two in the plastic and test fit a few times but all in all a fun Sunday afternoon project

Tower decals has been made/print and ship by pinsider Soapman. Great guy. 15$ if I remember

3 red LEDs bulbs your choice of #44/47
I wired all 3 leds on a GI. They are always lit. But you can wired them everywhere.

You need 3 of these sockets
http://www.marcospecialties.com/pinball-parts/077-5009-00

You can do the mod in an afternoon, lots of help available on this thread.

Very nice dredd with no fading that I can see ,someone put some work into it with that matching armor, that game would look even better with the cooling tower mod ,if fact all dredds look better with the mod.

#2521 6 years ago

One of the towers is a bit hot but I think it will hold and not melt down ha ha,really only had two bulbs the same and the third was a little brighter ,sorry I did not tell you more about the mod but I only remember that the towers are from Marco and they are the towers from Simpsons,I am sure you can fine the details on here,a bit of work but well worth it.
