I was thinking of doing this mod to mine, but from the looks of it, it seems that the LED's were in there when it was molded, not added afterwards. I would just piggyback the J116 12V circuit, pinballlife sells the molex connectors.
Designed a bracket for the topper and 3D printed it out today. Was a bit tipsy when designing so I misplaced the bottom hole, just used the top hole and works great!

I put a finger on each side of the target, line the decal up with tweezers, adjust the vertical position, then press down hard holding the target so it doesn't drop.

I just rebuilt my ES ones, just took them off and cleaned everything with rubbing alcohol and they worked great after.
Finished putting back together my JD tonight. Have a flipper miswired causing resets and still need to adjust the arm. But sure does look nice!
Replaced the star posts with neon green ones, white LED star post lights on the lower slingshots, red LED strips in the shooter lane. Plus some crystal clear ramps!

Purple (blue+red) LED strip in the back is part of the pinballbulbs kit, very clutch! Got the judge death figure on ebay, moves in a lot of different ways. Have a Dredd also but no good place for him.

Jeeze, got a few games in tonight, and I've fallen in love with this game all over. If anything, it's too fast now (just got done shopping it)! When I hit the Air Raid ramp, half the time the ball flies off of there! Plays super fast, ramps are super satisfying, upper area is fast and fun. Loving it!

3D scanners aren't really a thing yet. And nobody has the time to 3D sculpt it. It'd be MUCH faster and easier to just make a mold of one.
Was lucky to find an eagle topper 2 years ago when I bought mine. Wish it was the chromed one, but happy to have one. I painted it with gold glitter and it turned out nice!

Working on creating a repro shooter lane plastic today for a buddy. Laser cut today and it's a perfect fit! Next step is matching colors and printing the waterslide decals.
Also want to say how big of a fan I am of Super Game. Awesome easy way to shake up gameplay. I love the bonus modes and jackpots/super jackpots. Easy multiball is always nice. It's a quick way to make sure guests have fun, too!
Finished up a fun little project today - reproducing the prototype sniper tower plastic!
Hand drew the artwork in Illustrator, color matched for CMYK print, printed on waterslide decals, laser cut plastics and decals, sealed them with clear coat! Turned out incredible! I also threw a red LED under the end of the gun and tied it to the sniper tower lamp, looks awesome!

Always rebuild the flippers. Shooter probably needs to be tightened down, if not, a coil sleeve. What snyper said - check your EOS switches, reflow solder on fliptronics board.
Use your phone to see if they're even on. Clean with Q-tip and alcohol. Receivers seldom go bad, it's usually the transmitters. Broken wires/cold solder joints are also very common.
Laser cut a protector for the Cursed Earth plastic. Mine wasn't broken but I heard about other's who have gotten cracked.
I could make a run of these, anybody else interested? Was thinking about doing some fluorescent colors next to match my Deadworld!

I'm not sure if this is because of code. I always assumed because of the speed the ball is moving/when it hits the switch.
Mine sometimes goes to the upper flipper area, sometimes hits the 3-bank target, sometimes just lobs over to the right return lane.

Hmm I'm not seeing it on their site. I have the green slingshot protectors that match my DeadWorld, but didn't see others at the time.
The fluorescent plexi looks so sick! Even with the game off it nearly glows, especially on the edges!

Yep. Clean off the old one first. If you're feeling real ambitious you can do the deadworld gearbox
JD probably gets the least amount of love in my house. It's pretty straight forward and mode heavy. I think the code could be better given all of the shots/switches. However, sometimes I get very into the gameplay. Certainly what keeps it in my house is the killer theme and decadent layout.
Some thoughts while playing today:
During Battle Tank mode, the most satisfying shot is off the left flipper, off the stand-up target bank, and up the blackout ramp. It's a little tricky but I can do it almost every time. So good!
The whole upper playfield is very playable and fun with some nudging and practice.
Air raid shot is the hardest but also very satisfying. I can hit the upper loop pretty easy. Perhaps I need to re-align my upper left flipper a smidge.
Left loop is also pretty hard. Chances of making it with a moving ball are very low.
Super game is the coolest feature! I wish it was carried over to other games. I probably play super game 8 of every 10 games.

That being said... there's various versions of code floating out there (Solar Value fix for Pinbot). While selling a modified ROM would certainly violate copyrights, consider the LED patcher. An executable that's freely distributed, you can feed whatever data you want into there and it modifies it. The executable itself isn't violating any copyrights, it's how users use it.

I had this problem. Cleaning the crap out of everything again made it all good.
If you're adding on the stickers, make sure they go all the way to bottom of the drop target face.
Mine came with some extras you cut in half and stick below the top normal sticker. This prevents them from scraping and slowing down the target.

That's a short-term band-aid that will end up with a gunky mech down the line.
The key is to clean everything super well. I lightly sanded all the hardware and the washer posts, perfect after that!

Adjust where the ramp drops the ball. You can also put some foam at the end of the ramp to help absorb some momentum.
Fixed it today! Wiped it down, replaced Superbands with red PerfectPlay rubbers, fixed some LED spotlights, added some colored LED backbox flashers.
SO much fun. I don't think I'd ever sell it.
I noticed a new skill shot today I thought I'd share: When launching a ball with all the drop targets up, if you hit it just right with the upper left flipper, you can get the drop targets down in a row. Thus, lighting lock easier!

The locking ball ring mod is cool (and original) but the game is pretty much better without it (and with the L7 rom) IMO. Still if you like mods it’s the big one for this game.
There are a couple popular cosmetic add ons like the crane upgrade you see a lot and the sniper tower, but that’s more up to you.
We did a light strip under the crane plastic on my game and I think it looks pretty cool.
What are the differences between the L7 rom and the deadworld ROM?
