Hi all, I just joined the club!
However, I have a couple of issues I'm hoping can be solved here
#1 my planet is cracked, how do I get the bottom half out to replace it?
#2 I received the deadworld mod, which rom gets replaced and what do you do with the 2 other pieces of plastic other than the large ring?
#3 The game restores to factory settings each time I turn it on
Thanks in advance

Quoted from Mancave:

Welcome to the club
1. If you unscrew the board that has the flasher and 2 globes on it, there is a lock nut underneath and also one under the bottom half of the globe. I've never replaced mine so i'm not sure if you have to remove the whole shaft to get access to the lower lock nut.
2. Rom replaces the Game Rom already installed (it should have a sticker on it stating Judge Dredd), make sure the notch goes the same way when you replace it. What other bits of plastic? i only remember getting the Rom and the new larger ring plastic. Photos?
3. Does it have batteries in a holder on the MPU board? if so, replace them with new ones, hopefully won't be any acid leakage.

Thanks for the reply.
Here are some pics.

#2 the extra plastics

Quoted from ccbiggsoo7:

where did you get the deadworld mod and roms from? I need em!

Pinbits it was

Quoted from Mancave:

Thought there was a lock nut under that board but obviously not, there's definitely 1 or 2 underneath the globe half. You may need to remove the assembly to get to it. Have a manual?

I do have a manual, looks like the nut is under the plate in my picture. I think I'm better off gluing my new top half to the bottom half that's already there lol

Thanks Mancave, let me know how you progress

That is awesome info with pics, so helpful!
I have done exactly that & now have a brand new planet with purple LED's inside spinning around

I’m about the join the club, very excited. I need a new translite if anyone has a lead. Also is the mustard coloured topper or shiny gold more popular?

#3031 12 months ago

Thanks people looks like its shiny then! Now to find one that can ship to Australia at a reasonable price

Quoted from T2S88:

RTBB has them
Edit: my bad not in stock ,they have mustard ones only

Already contacted RTBB, eta is 4 weeks on the gold.

I’ve added a dead world mod too but what’s the best way to get the bottom of the planet itself out?

#3108 10 months ago

Haha! Think so, thanks for reminding me

I just bought a plastic set from Pinball Center. Is that the low quality set mentioned before?

I just added a Deadworld Mod into my JD and have a couple of questions
#1. If there is a ball locked into the ring, the 2nd ball sometimes tries to lock another ball into the same spot, thereby bouncing off the already locked ball onto the play field. Is there a way to avoid this?
#2 if the game ends with a ball locked then the ball stays there for the next game. Is there a way to have the balls clear out of the lock for each game?
Thanks JD owners

Not missing the metal guide but found that the balls were actually going under it adjusted it by bending it inwards and problem seems to be solved

Next question is does anyone have any advice on cleaning the drop targets? Mine are a bit sticky on the way down. Do you add any lubrications?

#3138 8 months ago
Quoted from Mancave:

Do you have any decals on them? and if so are they the full length type? If none, you may need to remove the target bank, give it a good clean and perhaps change over the return springs.

Yes I have the decals, they sit on the upper part only. Maybe getting new springs will help. I’ll have to order those from somewhere local to me

Hi all. My dredd is having an issue with the Deadworld mod in that once you lock a 2nd ball the machine won’t plunge a 3rd ball into play and then does a ball search, thereby putting the 2 balls in the lock into play. Has anyone had this issue or ideas here?

Quoted from gunstarhero:

Check your trough optos.

Did that, seem fine

#3166 8 months ago

It does do that every time. In switch test the opto at the top of the ramp works but the opto halfway up the left ramp says not used?

#3167 8 months ago

Now it’s just done it on first ball lock too

My Super Game doesn’t start and upon putting it into switch test the button doesn’t register. Is there supposed to be a diode on this switch? The regular start button doesn’t have one.
