I have tried to order from pinball.center in the past (repo plastic piece for my JD) and received the message that they do not ship to the USA. I just tried again and failed so I sent them a note asking for confirmation. Does anyone know if they ship to the USA? Or better yet, does anyone have a source for the base piece of plastics that the tower coolers mount to (repo is fine)? Thanks for your time.

Picking up a dredd from a buddy today so I’m back in the club.

It comes with a lot of parts including cab decals, spare playfield, ball guides, metal crane mod, and many others that I’ll list when I get it all.

I’ll be listing parts on marketplace eventually but if anyone in the club is interested in any of that shoot me an offer and/or I can get photo.

Don't buy there unless you have absolutely no other source, all I ever got from them was of umm.. not so good.. quality - regardless of the product type. They have quite a reputation of the likes in the German forums..

I've checked and there is no other source. Wonder why with the industry as healthy as it is right now, we cannot get Judge Dredd plastics.

I need that exact same one as one of the towers is broken off it. That being said, I've got a buddy bringing that and a couple others with him from overseas.

Really though, what a hassle.

The cooling tower plastic I posted above I am swapping to my machine. Mine has a cracked end around the screw hole, but I will offer that one up for sale if someone is interested. Cursed earth plastic over center subway I’m keeping as a backup

Here’s some of the stuff that came with the game that I’m not keeping. Prices don’t include shipping.

Wireform #12-7095 - $50
New set of cab Decals still rolled up -$175
All(?)metal Ball guides for the game - $50
Metal crane mod - $70

Pinball.center did respond to me with the same link as posted above. However I do not feel comfortable ordering from them if that is necessary, especially for something that may be of questionable quality. So, I am still looking for the base plastic of the cooling towers if anyone has one or knows were I can get one.

(FYI - I did message PinRob but he wasn't sure when he would actually be selling his)

Thanks everyone!

nipper2u Let me check when I get home and see how my extra on is. Don't remember if it is cracked.

@nipper2u, if this will work for you. Ill send it out. Was using it to work on my tower mod, that I have not finished yet.

Nice colors - but the rounded cutout is too big (your original is not a good reference). How can your screw to the bracket?

Hi, the original "small" hole is fragile: a strong ball hit can crack the plastic around (that's the reason mine original reached the status you see in the photo).
If you put 2 washers, the area that absorbs the impact is greater, so no risk to crack the plastic around the hole.

Then you need 2 huge washers. How is this look like as installed?

I'm hoping someone can help me track down a part. I've had a few balls get lodged under the plastic on the left side of the subway entrance. It looks like there should be a little wire "gate"/rail to keep the ball out of there...there are two holes in the playfield for it. There is one on the right side of the entrance...anyone have a size, part number, etc on this? Hopefully the pictures illustrate what I'm talking about...

Sorry, it's actually the wireform that's under the plastic. It looks like there is one on each side of the scoop entrance to keep the ball from getting under that plastic.

I see. You need a simple gate. Distance between hole centers: 32 mm.

Hi all, I am running the deadworld mod and trying to adjust the crane lifter wheel but I found it to have a blown out set screw. I would like to buy a new lifter cam wheel but see that pinbits and pinballspareparts are both sold out. Anyone know of a boutique part maker who is making these? Or, is anyone aware of a 3d cad file I could use to 3d print a few of these? Please PM if anyone has a lead. Thx

Here is the 2nd version. No need to suffer from helicoil, no need to glue anything. Only a simple 8-32 slim hex nut and the original grub screw are required.

Picked up mine this weekend, I'm super happy. Everything seems to work electronic-wise, I can start normal and super games normally with no errors.
First obvious thing to take care of is the crane. I don't know the backstory but I bet someone couldn't tune it and lost his temper

Shaft was ordered. Will take the whole assy apart to assess if more damage. That crane doesn't look complete to me, there are holes with nothing in. Might miss some parts.

Hi guys.

I'm updating the ROMs in my JD and noticed that it is running L2 sound ROMs at U2 and U3. Not L1 or L3, but L2. I have not seen anyone mention this sound ROM revision before. Does anyone know anything about it, or does anyone else have it in their game? I verified that the code is different compared to the L3 ROM.

It’s common for the crane rod to get bent like that if the playfield is moved with the crane in the wrong position.

#3436 4 years ago

A few pages back the question was raised where to get just the motor for the Deadworld gearbox. It turned out beyond contacting PBresource, there were none available.

Now that I have my game apart, turns out it is the same motor on the crane. Only difference is it has two extra mounting holes. However the mount comes off the motor easily with two small screws. So it is cheaper to buy a crane gearbox and use the motor from it and swap mounting plates, than a Deadworld gearbox. Or if you can use the numbers on it to find a match elsewhere.

The prototype or sample game came with a magnet switch on the crane which the production model did not. Those holes are where they would be mounted.

Only reason to add that to your game would be to run the L-1 rom so it could have the Deadworld lock and not be limited to free play. You would also have to switch the left ramp entrance opto to a different position in the matrix which might just be an unused plug under the playfield. Then it is ready to make the big money on location.

Just a fair heads up here for visibility.

I've called a last run on my Sniper Tower mod that I recently pulled from the shop (details in post #62: https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/interactive-judge-dredd-sniper-tower-mod-development-thread/page/2#post-5410988 ).

Seems like there's enough interest to make one last run to give a fair shot to those that want in before permanently discontinuing it (will make 1-3 extra over actual interest, and that will be it once those are gone). Just post interest in the mod thread and I'll get you on the list. Thanks again to everyone that helped support this mod and gave positive feedback over the last couple years it's been around

Just an update on this. The datestamp on my L2 ROMs (12 October) is one day before the datestamp on the L3 ROMs on IPDB (13 October). I am guessing nobody has ever seen this ROM revision before, so I will try and have it uploaded to IPDB.

However, after updating U2 and U3 on the sound board with the L3 ROMs from IPDB, there's a problem. When the game boots up it reads these ROMs as version P1! Anyone else have this issue before? Are the ROMs on IPDB just incorrectly labelled?

I checked on my Dredd out on location today. Played a game to make sure everything was working and it went bonkers during multiball. It held an eternal ball save--four balls until I killed the game through the menu buttons! I played a couple of games after that and everything seemed fine. I sort of remember something like that happening during ultimate challenge once back when I had it at home.

I am going to upgrade to L7 and hopefully eliminate some of the bugs.

In my experience I've only seen this happen when you have ball through problems.

This is exactly what happened to mine, ball trough problem. Replaced with a new set of Great Lakes Modular trough boards when he was still selling stuff and my never ending multi ball went away

#3443 4 years ago
Quoted from altan:

In my experience I've only seen this happen when you have ball through problems.

That was my first thought as well, but I wouldn't have expected it to keep shooting all four balls like that... I replaced the opto side of my trough not that long ago--maybe I should try replacing the receiver side if it happens again.

From what I remember of the buggy UC round way back, the game was also playing the wrong audio bites as if the ROM was caught up in buggy programming. U6 is definitely not as polished as the usual B/W ROM from that era.

I just completed my Cooling Tower mod. Thanks to all those before me : Soapman, Mancave, phillymadison, Cheese_wizardPQ, Rockrandand Ragefactory I made a 3D file and printed mine using translucent red PLA. I cut a mask for the numbers and primed, had to really apply it think to make it block light. I then airbrushed color to match the gray of the original 2D plastics. I put a warm single SMD LED bulb in each. The wall of the 3d print are thick so I could predrill and use screws. I used very fine screws to fasten the towers to the playfield plastic. I have them wired to the GI, but might switch them to 12v leds and a flasher circuit later.

Greetings fellow Judges! Just picked up my second game yesterday and starting to learn how this newer (to me) game is all put together. I plan on starting to tear this thing down so I can get all the dirt and grime cleaned up, working out the small issues my game has to get it sorted 100% and then on to upgrades and customization! The game itself is in really nice shape. The playfield is a solid 9/10 with only couple of slight issues and the cabinet is a good 8/10.

A couple of questions I have: Is the sound kind on these machines normally flat? It doesn't sound like the bottom speaker is putting out a lot of audio. Also, are there any common issues I should scout for to see if they need to be remediated on my machine? I just printed a hard copy of the manual today and got it spiral bound, so I'm starting to go through it, but tips from the community are always appreciated!

The sound on mine is quite good for an old machine--I would not describe it as flat.

Common problem areas are dirty optos, failed trough optos, sticky drop targets, and crane adjustment if you are running the deadworld mod.

One mod that should be done on all DCS sound boards is removal of unnecessary capacitors. See here: https://www.pinwiki.com/wiki/index.php?title=Williams_WPC&mobileaction=toggle_view_desktop#Scratchy_Audio_or_mumbled_speech
